The only time I've noticed this habit is when people truly lose the argument, he attempted to end it neutrally, and the rest of us have continued posting, and while it technically hasn't stopped being neutral, these comments seem to be the type that are attempting to provoke him to take up his side again. Check someones profile before stating that they are new thank you. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"My eyes can be cowed by big guns and shiny toys. Numbers don't lie and of the bases listed the only one that would not be immediatly roflstomped is 29 Palms (it being the most remote of the group) by the local populace.Rome was also in a state of constant semi-war because it had colonized damn near half the populated world at that point. One could say the U.S. was in a similar boat, but I digress. And as for arrogance, if Doolittle wasn't arrogant about raiding Japan we might never have turned the tide in the Pacific. If we weren't arrogant about our right to freedom we might still be paying our dues to King George. If we weren't arrogant about space flight the moon would still be an alien world. Not that I don't see your point but 'arrogance' won and defended this country's freedom. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Inu: yeah that pretty much just won the entire debate, I thank you good sir!Knife: everyone on this site has been on the end of the sharp stick. My point is, sure when I was not in the service I believed all the movie references about the bases being overun and all servicemen were tards, but now that I've been in for 2 going on 3 years deployed and at base, I realize those are civi stereotypes. And that's why I was trying to educate Carnack as to why it is just not as easy to do as he thought. I provided logistics, he provided census reports. Ever hear of Thermite Carpet bombing? Yeah that pretty much will take out a horde. And miramar is right next to Pendleton, so no delayed flight time by the flyboys. 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Inu: yeah that pretty much just won the entire debate, I thank you good sir!But the point is, even the military can be caught off guard, I'm sure large forces will survive, but the point is, everything relies on a web of supplies and infrastructure. If certain parts fall, your effectiveness drops. The troops may be deployed during early phases of infection, to evacuate civilians and provide aid. In any war, there is casualties on all sides, I imagine there is no exception in a war against the undead. There are thousands of possible variables that can not be depended upon. They still have to prepare the jets (load the weapons, fuel, etc.), and brief the pilots. Now, I agree that the military will most likely survive, but does it truly hurt to prepare for a situation where they may fall? (Edit, more content) 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

"Of course but there are always troops on base to handle all of that."I'm not trying to start an argument, I'm only stating that there are a lot of variables that can not be relied upon for an event like this. As I said, I do believe the military will survive, but I don't see the harm in planning for a scenario in which it fell. 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

The military could handle a zombie outbreak, the problem is; if the bureaucrats and politicians would allow it. They would probably want to capture the infected and try to cure them. Devastating the military, law enforcement, and medical community.
