Swan Song

Pan this situation out:

You come back from hunting to find that your party is holed up within the BOL, surrounded by zeds on every side. They are holding them off as best as they can, but there are simply too many, nor is there any way for them to escape.

For the purpose of simplicity, let's say you have the means to allow them to escape, but it would cost you your life.

You look at your ipod on your hip (let's just say you have one there) for that one song to help drive you into the fray. The one that sums up your life, your ambitions, your values, and most importantly in this case, your kickass-ness into one steroid juicing, red blood pumping "I'm going to tear a zombie's head off" song.

So, which one would you pick as your "Swan Song"? And as an added flair, who is the one you'd do it all for the most?

I like this hypothetical! I wouldn't so much if it was real, but great question :)

I think I would pick Prelude 12/21 by AFI. It's on DECEMBERUNDEGROUND album. I am not much of a rocker, but I heard this song on a movie and afterwards I had to have it to get pumped up before triathlons, races, workout sessions, etc...

It also sounds a little morose I think. And I would play it for any of my family or my girlfriend in the circumstance you mention above. They're worth it :)

Far away boys by Flogging Molly, not really a "tear a zombies head off" song, but it's for my girlfriend. Do you find this valuable?

Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd
Jumper - Third Blnd Eye
Running Down A Dream - Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers

There are many more, but those would sum it up best if I was just doing this off the top of my head.

Carl Orff's O Fortuna has to be one of the most stirring pieces of classical ever. At only 2 mins 30 though there would have to be some high speed zombie ass kicking to get everyone out of danger.
For my son and wife.

Hmm, If my way to save them involved fire- Inside the Fire- Disturbed

If not Bodies- Drowning Pool.

Or if I felt like being dramatic, Requiem for a tower.

As for who I'd be doing it most for, probably my Grandfather, he's the only true father figure I've ever had. He's taught me everything I know about firearms, and hunting, and fishing, and some about trapping. If he's not alive, then I'm doing it in his memory.

Anything by Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Kamelot, Coheed and Cambria, Tantric, Disturbed, Evanescence, Linkin Park, Seether, Sevendust, orTears Don't Fall by Bullet for My Valentine.

Who knows, I might even jam some Trans-Siberian Orchestra

But more than likely it would be the extended remix of The Sanctuary by Darling Violetta or My Sacrifice by Creed.

It'd be for the memory of Laura

It took me a while, but I would have one of two:

Godspeed, by Anberlin
or
Monster, by Skillet

I think I'd do it for my little sister most of all. I'm already feeling like swatting the guys that buzzing around her. >:P

Bring Da Ruckus, by Wu Tang Clan. Not my favourite song, but the most appropriate song I have. It doesn't represent me at all, but it's a good song. Do you find this valuable?
