The Real Nuclear Threat: Missles Gone Wild
Apr 3 2011, 12:07 AM EDT
Nuclear power plant meltdown is a severely beaten dead horse. Not touching it here. What I really want to know is what would happen if one nation decides to launch their nukes as a last "F*CK YOU" jester, with every other nation eventually following suit (This is assuming the missile silos and boomers survive long enough to authenticate and follow the launch order!)Think about it in US terms, every major city and military installation gone. Would most of the city-based zombie threat be gone, or would we have to deal with that crazy sci-fi concept Max Brooks mentioned (radioactive zombie attack!!)? 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Those zombies would get no challenge since most of us would be less than vapor...

Why are they going to launch missiles just to spite us?

To add on to that, if we get nuked we're ******. Even if we survive, there's going to be no infrastructure to go back to. Just a radioactive wasteland. We'd end up living in a primitive farming community until we die from radiation poisoning, starvation, thieves, or disease/old age.

Total destruction is the worse case scenario. A limited nuclear exchange is more likely. Think few land silos and mostly missiles from subs. There are still the smaller, out-of-the-way towns that might survive, or a city that avoids this fate due to faulty equipment or zombies overrunning many silos. 0 out of 2 found this valuable. Lets forget we have one of the most advanced anti-missile systems in the world for a second, and let me say this. Any country who throws even one ICBM at America has a death wish.Wait, nuclear war and zombies at the same time? What? Do you find this valuable? |
