open fire WHILE running away. If you don't have any guns, you could probably run faster...that's appropriate since if you don't have any guns you also NEED to run faster :) Do you find this valuable?

I agree with Danny, we need details. How many are there with me and how many raiders are there? What's the weapon and supply count for both sides? Where are we?

Though your response as a teenager should be no different than an adult's.

He's from a country that doesn't allow guns at all (Can't remember what country) So opening fire doesn't really work for him......

Dude just run, Self-preservation is key

shoot first. There would be no time for hesitation. These people don't have any respect for life and should be put in their rightful place......6feet under.

Are they waving a flag that says "we are raiders" and wearing dead-baby hats? How do you know? Just because they are armed does not automatically make them bad guys, otherwise you would also fall into that category because YOU are armed as well.

And if you fire first, and if you are wrong, YOU have definitely just become the bad guys. Hopefully the next group of armed survivors YOU walk toward is more discerning.

Peg it if you don't want to meet them full stop, hide if you want to determine their intentions. Do you find this valuable?

How do we know they are the bag guys though? I mean how do we know they aren't just another group of survivors.
I mean the escaped convict might be a giveaway if he's still got his prison suit on but still.
Are they shouting something like,"Stop and we'll shoot!" lol =p.

I'll tell you again:

How do you know they are raiders? How does one positively identify a street thug, drug addict or escaped convict from a distance?

You don't seem very confident in your answer.

Are you expecting raiders to be running around with chainsaws, goggles and mo-hawk haircuts, head-butting each other and displaying human body parts on their vehicles?

What about the hunched-over old couple, slowly pushing a shopping cart up the road?

If I were a raider, I would want to look like anything other than one -- who wants to get shot from a distance?

Snap judgments and a "shoot-first" attitude may get you into more trouble than you can handle, and definitely puts you at risk of becoming one of "them."
