A Good Ol' Fashioned Anti-Sociopath Gun.

Hey everybody. In light of all the seriousness we've had recently, I felt the need for something a bit more light-hearted and random. This isn't really zombie related, but I figure that's okay.

As many of you know, I watch A LOT of movies, particularly horror movies. So, I've had a question that I've brought up on the IRC once or twice, and I figure it's time to make a thread of it.

The question is simple: What would be your weapons of choice against the maniacs common in horror movies? People like Michael Myers, Jason Vorhees, and Victor Crowley, who seem to be able to take extreme amounts of punishment before going down. If you were to run up against one of them in an abandoned building, what weapon would you want by your side?

Even though this is a silly subject, I'd like to place a few restrictions. Keep the stuff relatively realistic: I'd prefer not to see everyone say RPGs, grenade launchers, and tanks. Make it something you could actually get ahold of pretty easily.

For me, I'd like a semi-automatic 12 gauge loaded with slugs (probably my Remington 1100,) and a pair of revolvers in either .357 or .44.
Do you find this valuable?

I'd go for my USP. I have it, so it fits the realistic bill, and if after fifty-two rounds(all four mags) they're still standing, I need new contacts. Do you find this valuable?

Common misconceptions, but sociopath =/= psychopath. Sociopathy is lack of empathy. 5  out of 7 found this valuable. Do you?

If my .45s won't stop something that isn't wearing body armor, then I'd have to step it up to a shotgun shooting slugs. Do you find this valuable?

It's usually just a symptom of your general psychopath. Much like paranoid schizophrenia and such. Though I would have to imagine that a horror such as a zombie apocalypse or similar event would certainly increase the chances of a pre-existing mental illness devolving into full on psychosis, which could show up as your horror movie style psychopath. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. a 7.62 x 39 caliber Ak.

Partially due to my love of the platform..
but more so that, when it comes to those dark and scary shacks and fairly cheap built places where these type of movies usually take place..

I can easily dispatch of them through the walls.. while still being able to run.

Now, if its something of the undead type, thats when Alucard's .454 casull comes out.

and if we have to deal with a bio-engineered catholic paladin/priest that uses bayonets as hiw weapons.. Alucard's black 13mm handcannon uses mercury tipped explosive rounds for that..

A 12 gauge Sagia with a backpack full of drum mags loaded with slugs. A high cap .45 auto pistol, like a G21 with the Kriss mag extention, which converts a 13 round mag into a 30 round mag. Lots of large caliber bullets would be ideal in this situation.

Sorry, I was going off of what I'd read on other sites.

According to the link below, psychopaths are capable of feigning normal behavior, are very organized and possibly successful and will approach their murders methodically. Sociopaths, OTOH, are completely incapable of acting in normal society, and are very disorganized. That seemed to better fit the characters I was talking about.

I could be wrong, but I dunno.

Big bullets your say?

I would want to dual wield .50 AE Desert Eagles in chrome finish. Thats the kind of stuff the hero would have in a movie. Movie guns for a movie scenario equal win for me!

I'd love one of those guns but based on the fact that these type of guys usually just don't ******* die I think I'd take my .45- not for them, but for anything that got in my way while I hauled a$$ in the opposite direction. hahaha. There are times when the flight option is more viable for me. I'm ok with running scared from a dead psychopath who won't die again...

LOL good responses, guys. I was worried that this thread would bomb, but it seems to be doing okay.

Also, I just remembered the scene in Halloween 4 where Michael takes a pounding from about 10 people with shotguns and rifles, falls down a mineshaft, and STILL gets up. Yeah...we've got out work cut out for us.

And I do agree; I high-cap .45 would probably be better than a .357 or .44.

I dunno; Donald Pleasence (Loomis) survived being shot down in WW2. And I'm sure a few celebrities have been shot. :P

Didn't Trace Adkins survive being shot? He's about the same size as Jason or Michael...

Edit: I know this post makes me look like an idiot. That's what I was going for.

well the original comment that provoked the gentleman before me to comment mentions a slug slingin saiga...

(SSS!)

with drums.

EDIT: because SJ doesn't get it:

20 rounds of 12 gauge slugs in a shotgun drum.. fired at a fairly high rate of fire does not allow for someone to get back up..

I think it's been shown that Zed's Love doesn't matter. If it did, I'd put more effort into it. :P

But yeah, seriously, I'm working on it. There'll be more soon.
