"we always talk about "which is the best gun" or do you prefer "gun x or gun y?"

what i want to know is this, if you can only carry 1 long gun i.e. rifle/shotgun what would it be? thats not counting a sidearm.

im thinking a 12 ga pump shotgun. its a little heavier that alot of other long guns, but it is very versitile in its uses. i can hunt large or small game animals, and it is an excellent choice for self defense.

if i KNEW that i was going into a gunfight i would probably choose an AR15 or AK47 because of the high capacity magazines, ease of reloading and because thats what those rifles were made for.

if i could get a 12 shotgun that could hold 30+ rounds and had changable magazines, no question i would choose it for anything"

It is a concept rifle following Jeff Cooper's scout rifle design. It is a bolt-action rifle using the M-77 Mauser style extractor with a 10 round detatchable magazine.

Its what I think of when I think of a general purpose rifle.

But if we're not going to follow directions a Mossy or Remmy pump with a box of choke tubes and a slug barrel would fit the general purpose defination just fine."
