I like the leatherman myself. I have carried one for quite some time. On a side note, if you look, lots of states are required by law to auction off any confiscated knifes and the like. Many use ebay or similar websites for it. I picked up a couple leathermans with the belt sheath for under 15$ each. http://www.eyeflare.com/article/where-buy-goods-confiscated-tsa/ That site has links to each state, I can't remember what state i found them on, but I think it was KY. From what I understand people take these into airports, they get confiscated, and then sold. Usually for next to nothing Do you find this valuable? |

I find that Leatherman can take a lot more abuse than other Multi-tools. Of course you can always get things cheaper I just posted the prices they are new. If you pay the price I posted you can be sure you are getting what you payed for. Some people diss the Leatherman because they try to use the flathead screw drivers as crowbars :/ They can be used as such but only for small tasks like opening paint cans. i always say fine show me another Multi-tool that can be used as anything bigger than a widgy bar and of course they cant find anything. But Yeah I still have to post Gerber Info they are great multi-tools too and a lot cheaper. And sog has a solid multi-tool as well.

I just refreshed my stock of multi-tools with an eBay buying binge. I got two like-new Gerbers for less than $20 each, a full-sized Leatherman for $15 (though it's the model with the scissors, with I think is lame), and I got those little Leatherman Squirts for my mini-BOBs.I will submit this - I like the brand name tools better than the cheap ones, but I have a buddy here who's a farm boy and motorcycle mechanic and do-it-yourself kind of guy and he has a story about a cheap-o Leatherman imitation Chinese tool that he used and abused for years. What I want now is a custom sheath holding my 14" Marbles bowie knife/machete and the big Leatherman and the sharpening stone. That'd be cool... Do you find this valuable? |

I agree buck i like the Big leatherman to. Cas: was the knife issued in the military the Gerber Legend. I think it has a slide out plier. I also think I read somewhere that they are GI. Like my recent addition to the page some people say that the Gerber Legend is the best multi knife but if youve used it and think the leatherman is better i might add that to the page ;). I have a Leatherman wave and I have a Leatherman Super 300 on my gun belt. I want to buy a nylon sheath for my Super, because all I have is the original leather case. I also have a Gerber, and 6 or 8 cheep multi-tools laying around. Do you find this valuable? |

A pocket knife and a leatherman, or even just a leatherman will get you very far in this world. If I could only have one tool, it'd be my leatherman.

I've got an SOG powerlock in my bob that's been around the block a few times. Hasn't failed me yet. I just wasn't a big fan of those gerbers that slid out.
