DLOW for Sherrif :-P

So, I guess it's come around (I know I'm behind) to campaign time. I suspect that there will be hard campaigning for a position of authority on a website. Personally, I'm not a big politics guy, never really know what to say. I really only got interested in being a mod after a mod came to me and suggested I might be good for the position... partially because of how I handle things, partially because of the hours I'm typically active on the wiki/chat. All I can say about what type of mod I would try to be is fair... Really we should be able to resolve issues for ourselves and shouldn't have to have someone oversee everything we do. If anyone has questions, I guess they will go here... I doubt I will send many PM campaign messages, I find the idea of campaigning hard for a position that has little bearing on anything outside the wiki a little excessive. I have a lot on my plate, and don't think I really should have the job if enough people don't already think I'm right for it. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

So, I have succesfully faded into politacal obscurity, time to spring from the shadows again lol. Seriously, it's just been a busy couple weeks for me. Now, I've seen a lot of back and forth, campaigning, and questioning from the forums. I'm glad to see everyone taking so active a part in this. I've said from the get go, that I only signed up because I was told I would be good for the job and I saw a SERIOUS need. What do I bring to the table?? Fairness - - I want everyone to stay, so I almost always try to make peace with the trolls at first, and I usually try to disarm arguements when others are going at it. I also agree with DN that a mod should discipline anyone he's arguing with. Common sense - I grew up on farms and ranches, have worked all my life, and have a college degree in an investigations field... Bluntness - I have absolutely 0 trouble calling BS or asking questions if something seems fishy. Activity - I'm not the most active person on the wiki or IRC... But I'm about the only regular user who is on during the day, 4 or 5 days a week. Seems to me that we need someone at those times because troll fighting seems to be a 24 hour job lol Leadership experience and training - JROTC, and USMC - achieved 2nd Lt. I've also been an hourly and salaried supervisor in the retail field and two factories. I know this seems like something that doesn't matter alot, but it kind of tells you why I feel that a positon of authority to help run the wiki is a good fit Really, there is a lot more in terms of knowledge of anatomy, forensics, anthropology, armour, self sufficiency, weapons technique, and sociology. I could go on all day, but it kinda feels like bragging on the internet. Basically, I've been here for almost two years and I want to see the wiki continue to grow. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
