Fighting off Riaders/Hostile Zeds
Jun 6 2011, 8:37 PM EDT | Post edited: Jun 6 2011, 8:37 PM EDT
Sure, a well placed blow with almost any weapon can kill a person, but the best way to fight the living and not the zeds are by way of knife or gun.

Now onto the battling of the zeds, the easiest way to kill them is with a headshot with a FMJ round. or if you are using a melee weapon then a hammer, axe, or my favorite, the spear.
Remember, anything less than destruction of the brain means they are still "alive"

Wrong, All you have to do is separate the brain from the body, A shot severing the spinal column would have the same effect, A fall resulting in spinal trauma ect. Just cause their dead and/or zombiefied doesn't mean that the brain is the magical spot and only spot to kill one.

Thats why I will chop their heads off, its better than chopping anything else off because it seperates the brain from the body and they cant bite you :]

got to get close and have a mighty strong blow to sever a head. It isn't all hollywood style. Id rather be at a distance if possible, Disable there mobility via hip failure (i.e. shooting it) the while there crawling and mostly stationary take a head shot.

i do, plenty. Do you have properly made swords capable of severing the head? Harder feat than it sounds by the way (Hence why the Guillotine blade was up soo high!) need statistically 60 lbs of pressure per square inch of the neck, ALOT of momentum their. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Wrong again, hollow points work much better on organic material.

"Alot of people."
Alot of people used to say the Sun revolved around the World.
Alot of people in Germany used to think the Holocaust was a good idea.
Alot of people get **** wrong sometimes, and it's called the bandwagon argument.

1st recorded Zombies were part of Voodoo Culture where a priestess gives the poison of a dried plant to someone, the effects are apparent death (i.e. heart beating to slowly to notice) Buried alive, and the lack of oxygen makes them literally retarded till they live there lives submissive and stumbling. but very alive. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Why do you need to kill anything? Seems to me like you only *need* to end the threat, and this can be done in a number of ways (killing among them).

A solid hit to the pelvic girdle will render a person *or* zombie immobile, giving you plenty of time to escape.

Coils of concertina or barbed wire across the ground will entangle an entire group of zeds, thereby also allowing for time to relocate.

There is more you can do besides Gunz n' Moar Gunz.

tales (legends) of the dead, undead and living dead abound throughout history
Gildamesh of Ur of the Chaldeas (oldest recorded city, therefore oldest written history) allegedly led an army of the undead
Haitian "voodoo" less than 400 years old

Yes but you may have to deal with it later, so what about pelvis then a small calibre to the head? (.22 S, L or LR)

1) Obviously the witch doctor would dig up the person after a few hours of oxy deprivation :)
2) The easiest way to kill Romero-zombies (as opposes to 28-runners) is a pair of trench spikes, letting one person kill as much as a zombie or two per second for several minutes (possibly 1000 per 15 minutes per person) while using no ammunition, hence they are of no concern compared to raiders, which ammo should be saved for.
3) I feel that the best way to deal with raiders would be to have marksmen hidden, try to negotiate first, preferably by: offering drinks to slow things down; ask if they need anything before they ask for anything, which could keep them at least a little bit more grounded unless they are complete psychopaths or sociopaths (though complete psychopaths would've already killed each other); emphasize that 2 people are stronger than 1 but not as strong as 20 and offer to team up (assuming they are just trying to survive rather than predating survivors for the evulz); if it fails, force them to leave before anybody dies.
3.5) Also, keep in mind that hunting other people to eat would make you worse than the zeds (who don't know better), but if raiders force you into a life-or-death situation and you have to kill them anyway, I don't see why one should let 30 servings of protein per body go to waste.
