"does anyone else think tha they would have problems with gore desensitization? like seeing TEOTW would be less beliaveable if it actually happened?
"
Some people have more of a tolerance to the gore, and violence. Desensitizing isn't always an absolute. I've seen people that puked, and squirmed just as badly after the 20th time they were exposed to it, as they did on time "1". If it's a part of the new reality, then you will find a way to adapt to it. It's not really something you can train for, or prepare for.

A lot of our military are still affected by it. (Not all, but enough for it to be worth mentioning) all you can do in that case is try and disconnect from it, and focus on your objective (whatever that may be, escape, scavenging, the next threat). There are some things that will bother a person no matter how many times they are exposed to it. Myself personally? I have no problem with mutilated bodies, or blood, or most things along those lines. That being said, rotting bodies make me a bit squeamish, and the smell of a burning body will make me heave my guts out. They are both things I have been exposed to, but build up no tolerance for.

I wouldn't worry about how you would react to it, you may never know unless you have to face it. I've seen a lot of people who were worried how they would react, and have taken it as good, or better than myself. As long as you don't pause, and break down, it just make you human. If it DOES make you pause, and break down, it will probably make you a victim.

You can puke and run at the same time though, on the plus side... :-)

I thought of a few more that escaped my mind on my last post.
I'm WAY too attached to my pets. My family and I have 3 pugs and a rotti-mix. And there's also four cats. Not really..ideal when you need to BO. The pugs not only make travel complicated, but they bark at everything, which in turn makes Mojo, my rotti-mix, start barking and his is... a LOT louder. I don't think my family could leave them or the cats behind...so that's not something I'm looking forward to dealing with.

Definitely bring the cats. They catch rats. Use your dogs as guard dogs.

The dogs would bark at anything and give away my location to potential threats. Besides...pugs aren't bread for biting.
And I live in the country, the cats would just be eaten by wild animals. >.< It sucks.

I live in the country. Cats live and learn like most animals. We have ferral cats that servive racoons, snakes, hawks, coyotes, foxes, stray or loose dogs, and anything else out here. So dont worry about the cats.
Now the pugs will be an issue. They cant fight anything but can become a warning system that can become an give away to others. The rott can become a good protection and warning dog. Just training and leashes for them.

The hardest part is bringing them all along on a foot bug-out. Now a vehicle will be easier but still thats lots of animals to watch and kkep track of.
Might be better to just let the cats go and put the pugs in carriers if in a vehicle.

I cant see the pugs pulling much. But they can be hooked up to like a small wagon and can help pull it, plus this way it will be easier to control and handle them.
Loki has a good idea.
lol at the image tho
