Most veggetables grown in your average garden have quantities of vitamin c

Surprisingly, things like red sweet peppers have more in the average serving than a medium size orange.
1/2 cup red pepper is around 130 mg Vit C
1 medium orange has arouns 70 mg Vit C

Broccoli
Green peppers
Kale
Tomatoes
Kohlrabi
Strawberris
Peapods
Cauliflower
Sweet potatoes

All have substantial amounts.

The wife and I grow most of these veggies either in our open garden or our green houses.

Plenty out there man, most garden herbs will have some Vit-C.
Even in urban areas you'll find some fruit trees.
You don't need a lot to fight off scurvy, but it helps with your immune system & a low immune system in a world without medical supplies would probably kill you if you caught the flu. Have a look on Wiki for herbs & plants with vitamin content, make a note of it. I'm no nutritionist but I have a garden full of herbs.

oregano, parsley (massive vit c), mint (digestion), Thyme (natural antiseptic & great on pizza)... Tiz easy man they take minimal looking after & as yet no pests eat them.

Cool thing is in some areas, you can find wild strawberries.
There is a little glen in the state forest not far from us.
There is a little pond there , maybe 2 acres, great fishing, and about a third of the glen is covered in wild strawberries...we try to get out there to camp about the time they are rippening. Though we generally have to share with deer and the random bear.

I remember me and my grandpa sitting on his swing and eating strawberries.

Or watermelons. Those were good too.

Also herbs are very hardy, grow in most conditions & if you know what they look/smell like you will spot them growing everywhere like parks, gardens, even in the pavements & carparks.. It's not much to remember & you can even take some with you if you have to travel or dry it out then it'll last forever. Do you find this valuable?

Almost any "natural fruit flavored" candy has some manner of vitamin C (ascorbic acid) somewhere in there. Unless you are on a pirate ship full of pickled everything most likely you will be able to avoid scurvy altogether. Do you find this valuable?

It is extremely difficult to miss out these days, in Z-land it might get harder, but even in the city I'm sure you'll find a fruit tree or root vegetables. Dandelions are edible, well the leaves are & are packed with vitamins, tastes like lettuce & grow all over since they are almost impossible to get out of your garden & visible for a good distance due to the yellow flower or white fluffy seed parachute thing. Don't eat the stem or flower head it tastes awful & will give you the squits. Do you find this valuable?
