There are actually a couple of things that you can do to help quiet the amount of noise that your pack makes (the contents are another matter). For one simple electrical tape applied to the tab of a zipper pull will quiet the clanking sound that it makes by a lot. For more permanent solutions you can use heat shrink on them or even better replace them with a knotted piece of cord. For the zipper itself you can give it a good rub down with wax either from a candle or a block of canning wax on the outside then zip and unzip it a few times to work the wax down into the teeth. 3  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?
