I have a little survival kit like this that I keep with me all the time. I use the square altoids container. I have a BIC lighter, fishing line, 2 hooks, small pocket knife wrapped in a few dollars (this cuts noise from the knife rattling in the container), band aids, 2 sticks of gum, and a small spool of thread with needle. I carry this all the time and it is so handy. My saying is this kit is to keep me alive long enough to get to my bigger bag. I can even use it for day to day uses. Example. I was watching my 6 year old cousin the other day at a playground and fell. Instead of going all the way home to get band aids I just pulled one out of my kit and gave it to her. A few months ago the power went out at my house during the storm. I grabbed my lighter and found the candles. All without stubbing my toe. I don't use the pocket knife to much because I always keep a better one with me. But the money comes in handy for emergencies. Considering I made this for about $2 it is definitely worth it! Do you find this valuable?
