Best Area for Long-Term Survival
Jul 28 2011, 5:38 PM EDT | Post edited: Jul 28 2011, 5:38 PM EDT
So there are alot of places in the world to Survive and Thrive in a Zombie Attack. As long as you have the resources with you or available, any place can save you from the masses of the Damned. But what is the best place? Where is the best place on earth to live during the infection? Take in account resource availability, accessible food/water, zombies, drastic military actions, ways to get there, and human raiders/refugees before putting an answer. Do you find this valuable?

somewhere in the rockies next to a river, as long as it is isolated. forests for building materials, great vantage point, concealment and the river will have water and fish. but there could be better places Do you find this valuable?

Best place on Earth? Probably somewhere that's still just a step or two above the Stone Age. Everything they do is life or death, adding zombies to it probably wouldn't change things much. Do you find this valuable?

yes but if your in the rockies human raiders will be able to see the smoke from your fire. they might have military firepower in the beginning so where else could you go?

I wouldn't move an inch from the property in which I'm currently living - it's locked down like Fort Knox. I don't want to go into too much detail (even though I just went into verbose detail in a previous response that I've since deleted) but a big fence and solid surveillance system ensure that this place is secured.

If for some reason I did have to actually leave, I'd want to stay local so that I can return here. If I had to vacate the region, I would go back to the Midwest, specifically Ozark mountain country - middle Missouri. I'm quite familiar with the region and how to live off of the land there.

Honestly though, it's fruitless to try to figure out what region of the world is most survivable unless you actually intend on moving there ahead of SHTF and beginning to harden it. A 'prepared' urban location in a big city beats a totally unprepared mobile home inside of a rural trailer park every day of the week.
