Michigan.

I'm from Wyoming, MI. its a suburb south of Grand Rapids. (basically hold up your left hand and put a finger on your ring finger knuckle. or just look at a map)

i have a few relatives that live in Newaygo. its north of my location. its pretty out of the way when it comes to major roads. (131 and 82 its the howard city/newaygo exit. just head west till elm, north on elm and you're in the area.)

it hosts an abundance of fish and other wildlife that live in the water or around the water. deer and woodland creatures are also abundant.

some properties on the river have very large and steep declines to the river and have powered lifts that go up and down. (tactically, i have no clue)

boats, fishing poles, rifles, a few quality pickup trucks or SUV's for the dirt roads, or some small sedans (gas misers) will fit you right.

take a look at the area here. Croton, MI 49337

google map it and tell me what you think.

I'm in Hudsonville. In the event of this I'm making a break for a freight ship all you really need is food, water, lots of guns for your group. With the food and water make sure everyone has enough for three days. Pack light cuz once you get to the freight there should be a ton of usefull items on board. You don't need to worry about zombies getting on board if you make one entrance that can be moved on and off for any needs wether it's food, ammo, supplies, ect. Plus there will be plenty of things in containers. Hope this helps some. If your plan fails the more the marrier are welcome aboard. As long as they pass inspections. One flaw though, I hope there is a boat to snag! 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

a frieght ship, sounds legit for a little amount of time before you need to refuel. when you dock, you'll have a chokepoint for the zed to try to get through. engine repairs and ship maintenence may need an engineer though :/ think smaller? Do you find this valuable?

I'm an old fat man from Tekonsha, MI. My home is 600 yards from I69. I am planning on sticking it out at home or going to my sisters farm 34 miles south east.

I don't like the freighter idea, because it takes real skills to maneuver and operate a large ship. Although it would make a good location if your using it as a strong hold leaving it in one location and only moving when or if needed.

@donttazemebro - I know where Wyoming is quite well, I traveled through it a lot when I use to be a delivery driver. I also know Newaygo and the area quite well, it would make an excellent bug out location. There is plenty of food, water, and a lot of summer homes and cabins that can be confiscated in an emergence. I use to deliver food and prisoner commissary to the Newaygo County Jail once a week.

@junkcollector - wyoming in my idea is not the place to be when **** hits the fan, so i plan on getting the hell out asap. too many stupid people in one small place. so when there's an outbreak, you'll know where i'll be. Do you find this valuable?

Center Line High School. in warren? you're better off getting your passport just in case and bugging out to Canada after the outbreak. warren looks like a cluster when people want to BO. i would stay away from cities if i were you.

HeII no Wyoming is an bad spot to stay, with Grand Rapids and all of its suburbs. Although if you get on 131 and head North it won't take 30 minutes to get out to the highly rural areas.

I've decided to look for and buy a cabin in the U.P. for a vacation/hunting-fishing get away. Worse case scenario I and any one who goes with me can get across on small boats under the Mighty Mac.

i was also kidding about how stupid the people would be. they'd be trying to bug out and get infected.

if there were any troubles, there's always backroads to take if 131 gets backed up. i think we are at a strategic advantage with being in michigan, our resources aren't far from eachother and when we have resources, we have em all.

freshwater lakes to farmland and forests. i would fight to keep my god damned land if i have to.

the UP is a great advantage too. all you have to do is create a natural barrier between you and the zed. with all the lakes and one bridge going over. you can survive.

All plans have some good and some bad,you need to deside for your self what will work for you. I am in Muskegon and I have well trusted friends in two places north of me. The more I read about other peoples plans,my curent plan looks like it has problems of it's own. Do you find this valuable?

Michiganders, come to Mendon!!!

There is a cool gun store in the town and the owner lives nearby, he would be willing to help as long as we don't endanger his family. If you do that you will be on your own... hope you can outrun a .50

Do keep in mind that the town has a population of 870 people. If interested, we could work on a plan.
