Preppers
Aug 16 2011, 3:16 PM EDT | Post edited: Aug 16 2011, 3:16 PM EDT
In viewing a recent thread on food, I have begin to wonder how many here are really preppers and how many are just thinking about it. I wonder how many actually have started prepping? Can you answer the following questions?

1. Have you actually developed a BOB?
2. Do you actually own a weapon for defense and can you use it?
3. Have you actually planned out an escape route to a "safer" place if necessary?
4. Have you developed a safe place that is stocked for survival for some period of time?
5. Do you have companions who you anticipate going with you and are they committed to do so?
6. Do you have first aid supplies and know how to use them or at least have a guide to show you how to perform first aid?

Just wondering!

I've got everything you asked and then some. Matter of fact my plan could use some updating.

Most of the serious adult members are actually survivalists. I don't like the term "prepper". It makes it sound like a cute hobby. Do you find this valuable?

Well I am in the emergency preparedness business so I use the term prepper although I planning on my extended family and I surviving.

I didn't say that you weren't going to survive just because you use the word prepper.

1.) Check. See profile for proof.
2.) Check. See profile for proof.
3.) Check. Need to actually write/post said plan yet.
4.) Check. BOL is continuously stocked and rotated once a month.
5.) Check. Have also invited two other families, whose experiences are invaluable
6.) Check. Blowout Kit on plate carrier, plus additional medical supplies in BOB and at BOL.

Making a page for my plan/BOL might be a nice project this weekend.

Indeed, as Maricely said, most of the older members here are into survival preparedness to some degree. Younger members.... not so much, but some are more than others.

I'll admit, the "food" thread you're referring to isn't exactly one of the crowning achievements of the ZSDW. In fact, I'm quite embarrassed that some of that exchange has even taken place here.
