Shouldn't this thread be "I dub thee"?

The verb "dub" being from mediaeval French "adouber", which originally meant to "equip with armour". The earliest form of knighting ceremony was simply publicly dressing the new knight in the armour and weapons appropriate to his new status. In middle-English 'dub' came to mean declare or proclaim.

It's commonly believed the Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II says "I hereby dub thee, Sir something or other". I couldn't say being common as muck.
