Trading after the **** hits the fan...
Aug 19 2011, 6:19 PM EDT
After the Zombies rain terror on the human race, how do people expect trading will work? People will not use GBP, or USD or what ever currency anymore. I reckon most people will just take what they want. But what will the more respectable do? I reckon that people should trade valuable items. For example, I may trade a certain amount of water for some rounds for a firearm, or medicine. What do other people think? Should people carry currency with them? Are there any better ways of trade? Do you find this valuable? |

Bartering, the thing humans did before we all found out we all like shiny things and thus use them as an economy.

You just trade. You give them something that you have for something that you want.eg. You have lots of water but little ammo. They have lots of ammo but not much water. You give them some water and they give you some ammo. Simples. You could stock up on valuable items now such as tobacco, alcohol, precious metals, whatever. These thing always have some value. Trading and bartering is a deal between two people based on their needs and wants at that particular time.Let's say John is sitting on an ammo dump. Bullets aplenty. But he doesn't have a water supply. The first person who comes along might be able to get a whole case of bullets for ten gallons of water. John's need is going to be both immediate and desperate. But once he has a few gallons stored away, the next person who comes along is in a weaker position, and might only just get a few boxes of ammo for the same amount of water. The key thing is not to expect a set price for any item. You can't set an exchange rate, you can't draw up a barter price list. 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |
