What do we have to write, and does it have to be specifically written for the contest?

We had an official one when people were more energetic about writing. Pity we didn't go to the full nine with it.

"What do we have to write, and does it have to be specifically written for the contest?"Your questions are answered on the attached page, but I'll answer them here anyway: I can't tell you what you have to write until September 1st. That way, nobody can get a jump on the contest. And yes, it does have to be specifically written for the contest. The writing part itself will be fun and the thing you have to write about is very vague, so you can take many creative liberties. Do you find this valuable? |

"I'l probably participate, depends what we have to write about though"Alright, sounds good! Trust me, what you'll have to write about is nothing boring/dull. I think that nobody will be disappointed. Do you find this valuable? |

Notice: The judging period may be lengthened if fifteen days isn't long enough to read all the stories.

I would be interested. Might be able to write a story, depends on how much spare time I have in September but it does sound like fun.

"I would be interested. Might be able to write a story, depends on how much spare time I have in September but it does sound like fun."Sounds good to me! The story only has to be 3,000 words long. Do you find this valuable? |

"Can it be longer?"Up to 5,000 words. There are two reasons for the limit: 1. Sharpie41, who is one of our judges, doesn't have a lot of spare time right now, and I don't want him to be too swamped with all of this. 2. Part of the challenge is to be able to write a well-thought out and planned story, and the word count limit helps us judge if you're good at that or not; if your story suddenly cuts off with an abrupt ending because of the word limit, we know you're not very good at planning things out. Besides, 5,000 words is a pretty long story. It's not like you'll be cramped. If you want to get an idea of how long 5,000 words is in a story, look at the story in the link below, which is just a little over that. (5,596 words, to be exact) http://www.fictionpress.com/s/2944522/1/Chapter_1 Do you find this valuable? |

"Meh, to be honest, I doubt I'll have the time. I'm starting school back soon. Sorry."Is that a no to judging, participating, or both? By the way, school is starting for me, too, so rest assured judging will be possible for you. Do you find this valuable? |
