The only weapon I nominated that didn't make it was the CZ-75, meh, 2 out of 3 isn't bad. Glad to see that the Mosin made it up there. Do you find this valuable?

Jim,

I wonder about a run off election...just for fun....for a couple of close ones on this list : )

Shotgun: Remington 870 or Mossberg 500?

Melee Weapon: Machete or Tomahawk

Those were really close!

Booooo! None of those guns are the best!

Who do you think you are saying those are the best. Booooooooo!

Seriously though thanks for putting the time into the election, just be prepared for countless noobs to stumble upon the results and necro the sh*t out of it. LOL.

First off I would like to think Jim for taking the time to put up with all of the how do I put it - oh ya - ******** who kept trying to comment about everything but, and putting in stuff not in the running.

Second, I agree with most of the listings, but would like to see next years broken down more, with revolvers being separated from auto handguns, bolt and lever action guns separated from semi auto rifles, and possibly the melee separated into blunt and edged.

Over all GREAT JOB JIM :)

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the praise. But I couldn't have done it without y'all. What cracked me up was the folks that said "You shoulda put X on the list." there was a reason I had nomination threads for three weeks LOL.

Also, a runoff election would be interesting.

Jim, you should have put a wife on the list. They are so deadly, they make YOU want to off yourself.

Thanks as well for putting this together. I feel that these results show a little more realism compared to our last results.

The only weapon that didn't make the list from my vote was the PR-24. The only weapons that made me do a double take were the M1 Carbine and Trench Knife. Never expected either of those to make the lists.

Fun results. M1 is a surprise to me, also. Nothin' beats nostalgia, I guess. I notice the Keltec Sub 2000 didn't get in this time. Maybe, like the Ruger Scout, it's a "flavour of the moment" weapon? But guys, the Winchester? Really? Come on, if you're going to go all cowboy, how can you go past the stronger, side ejecting, scope mountable, and basically cooler Marlin 336?!? I think Jim rigged that part, and I demand a recount! :) 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I second this, a wife should be number one on all the lists.

Well, all of my top choices ranged pretty high on the list. Results were pretty typical, I'd have a skull implosion if the M1 Carbine had gotten first again.

Sorry I didn't help you out on the votes like I planned to, Jim. Maybe in the future, we can use one of the voting applications we used in the past to cut down work?

Naw, if I'd rigged it, the 94'd be #1, and the pistols would consist of the 1911 and a bunch of revolvers LOL.

Well not to many surprises in the results.
I was expecting the AR-10 to do better though.

Exactly.

I would have murdered a random cute little kitten out of rage if the M1 Carbine would have won again. (OK, not really, but you get my point) I figured it would be a close match between the AK-ish rifles and the AR series rifles. Either way it looks like this election is the result of people who are more well informed.

I was glad to see the FiveseveN do so well. I think the 1911 is a little over-played, but I can't argue that it's not a good pistol.

I don't really care if the kitten is cute or not, they all look the same under my boot.

On another less murdertastic note, good job Jim!

Me too. Everybody loves the AR-15 obviously, but if the AR-10 is just like an AR-15 only bigger, with longer range and more stopping power, you'd think it would have at least made it on the list.

Oh well, at least the katana only made it to #7.

Too bad none of the Kel-tec weapons made it, especially the SU-16 models, the RFB, and some of their handgun models as well. And yes, the SUB-2000 looks cool too. I guess this is indicative of either Kel-tec needs more marketing and/or a better supply to meet the demand. After all, they are the 3rd largest maker of firearms in America.

I am surprised that the Saiga-12 came in third and the Mossberg 930 SPX didn't even make the list.

As for the handguns, that is pretty much what I expected.

In melee weapons, I thought the Kukri would have done better than 3rd and the warhammer didn't even make the list.

A small tangent - any C-mag users in here?

Again thanks Jim for the tireless effort and good threads on this.
My shotgun and melee made #1 slots, rifle #6 and pistol was a no show (but its Beretta twin made #3)
I am surprised though a certain sniper didnt even put his choices in after all the comments. lol

I'm pleased to see that there was over a hundred people who cast their ballot.

I'm not surprised to see that the choices have changed. The turnover on the site is huge, so it was a largely different group of people that voted. Maybe with a few more of these, then all of the results could be combined into one?
