weapons in bags

Should I carry weapons only in my scramble bag? Or also in my B.O.B.? the question aroused when watching Iron's BOB, he said he included the weapons in the BOB's weight, so....I include them in my BOB, my scramble, OR I include the scramble in my general weight?? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Weapons as in guns? or knives and such? I would keep your guns at least near your bags unless you have many in which case toss a pistol and some ammunition into them. The weight being included is usually part of a loadout measurement but perhaps they are attached to the bag itself via straps or other holders. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

My BOB will have a spare handgun and ammo to match, but weapons should be kept near the bags themselves, but not in them Do you find this valuable?

This probably sounds paranoid to most, but I like to keep weapons wherever it's practical. For example, a handgun... in the tire well of a car, even in areas where guns in vehicles are less than legal could be a pretty big lifesaver in a bad situation, say rushing home from work when SHTF and your vehicle breaks down.

Here's the question. Is your scramble bag in the same general area as your BOB, so that you'd grab both if you were in the area, or are they separated enough so you could potentially only end up with one? If it's the latter, obviously you need some guns in both, and some solid knives.

What I'd do, ideally is have a .22 and bulk ammo in the BOB, since that's not immediate usage weapon, and have a gunbelt with pistol, mags and primary weapon pouches along with guns, a short distance away.

Good. Firearms are not ALL that available around here, but I sure can get some good knives in both bags and a 14" machete on my BOB. Thanks!!
