For example, a handgun... in the tire well of a car, even in areas where guns in vehicles are less than legal could be a pretty big lifesaver in a bad situation, say rushing home from work when SHTF and your vehicle breaks down.

Here's the question. Is your scramble bag in the same general area as your BOB, so that you'd grab both if you were in the area, or are they separated enough so you could potentially only end up with one? If it's the latter, obviously you need some guns in both, and some solid knives.

What I'd do, ideally is have a .22 and bulk ammo in the BOB, since that's not immediate usage weapon, and have a gunbelt with pistol, mags and primary weapon pouches along with guns, a short distance away."
