"i havent seen anything mentioning closet doors bedroom doors etc. they are just as sturdy as construction wood and are much better used to protect the outside then the inside"Actually it depends on the doors. Some internals are cheap frames with a thin plywood covering. They aren't fire rated, in fact firemen refer to them as "kindling". Do you find this valuable? |

I agree with Pedo. Many interior doors now are essentially heavy duty cardboard.

"I agree with Pedo. Many interior doors now are essentially heavy duty cardboard."LOL! Actually, my hall closet door is made out of cardboard. Other than using it to start a fire, it would be totally useless in tryin to keep out even a crawler. Most interior doors that I have seen are of no use at all either. Even wood ones usually have panels that are all too easily kicked in. They might work in a pinch tho, to slow them down or to give you a heads-up that you got company. Do you find this valuable? |

"I agree with Pedo. Interior doors...no gooda for keepa nothing out...or in for that matter. I could punch holes in most interior doors with my lethal a$ gas. Silent...but deadly. You need wood to board up a place. Good wood not thin press wood or cardboard. I will dismantle half a friggin house to get at the 2x4's if I need to. Just make sure you don't take down any load bearing walls. That would be bad. ok most of you must have different doors cause mine are very solid when we were replacing one with an identical door (the old one didnt fit properly) me and my friends decided to test its strength it took several punches a couple hammer blows and finally a sledgehammmer blow to break it

The vast majority are very cheep and very flimsy. You may be the acception...not the rule. Do you find this valuable? |

"Yeah well don't plan on all doors being that sturdy. The vast majority are very cheep and very flimsy. You may be the acception...not the rule."I agree most internal doors i have seen ( unless they are a security or fire door) are just a thin timber frame with a light weight filler like cardboard then timber veneer over them Its also why i had external doors fitted throughout my house not flimsy sheets of ply called internal doors Do you find this valuable? |
