Zombie Music

Lets discuss if zombie can be affected by harmonic sounds. Some theories say that a swollen brain is a major symtom of zombieism. Could an increase in forced brain activity destroy or temporary weaken the functionality of a zombie? How much do zombies use their hearing and could we turn that into an advantage?

Ive actually wondered this myself a few times as a matter of fact. Do you find this valuable? |

Very interesting point...Disclaimer: No one knows for sure, but... It's theorized that they find humans by sight, hearing, and smell. Staying hidden takes care of sight, and staying at a decent distance/downwind may help with scent, but depending on how well they smell, short of wearing a zombie, you'll smell alive. However, the sound cover is an excellent thought I don't think I've seen on here before, but it has a been a thought of mine. Sort of like in Left 4 Dead, the pipe bomb beeps to attract their attention..what if you set up a death trap? A stack of speakers, surrounded by a pit of death, inferno, whathaveyou? Mind you, it's not a workable plan, but something to think about...use remote sound sources to keep them away from you. Another option would be (if silenced weapons were available, or loud enough music was used) set up a few remote speakers, and play music or even the sounds of humans. Send the sound to one speaker, letting the zombies shamble towards it, picking a few off...then turn that speaker off and turn on another behind them, so they have to turn around and shamble back towards it...pick a few off at a time, keep them busy, etc....seems like it may, in theory, keep you from being the only interesting sound, if nothing else, and perhaps an effective way to kill zombies (relatively) safely. Edit: For silly typos. Do you find this valuable? |

It may be possible, given that you had power for the speakers. While music or sounds can draw zombies to the origin of the sound there is still the possibility that by doing this "death trap" you only trap yourself because most likely any zombie within 1/4 of a mile will be drawn to it. Think about it, if you have every zed homing in on your general area you might just be traped. Either you would starve or you would be eaten by the zeds. Do you find this valuable? |

...true that. Well back to the drawing board, then, as I want to deal with the local zombies, not bring in the neighboring zombies as well.

I've always thought of a cool "final battle" between the living and dead by drawing up a wicked battle line of thousands of survivors with their back to a cliff and blasting abunch of songs as the chain swarms start comming in and destroy them right before winter sets in. Of course, one would need thousands of survivors... Well armed survivors. Do you find this valuable? |

I can really picture this. Do you find this valuable? |

It's kind of a rock version by the Trans Siberian Orchestra. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0r5Alqi1y0&list=PL906C5FCD0576B059&index=3 If you're interested, the full playlist can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL906C5FCD0576B059 Do you find this valuable? |
