"I am a fairly strong guy. You might be stronger than I. I think Im going to top out at about 40lbs in each hand for a 300 yrd sprint. At 7 pounds per rifle and a half pound per 20 rounds----01011010 crunch crunch crunch ---- you get to run out with 5 rifles and 450 rounds. Now If I am going to walk that 300 yard I might increase the load. But, there be zeds out there man!I mean if you can get there without causing notice, sneak in, dodge who or what might be in there, grab a gun a backpack and a bunch of rounds for said gun, escape out and back to your spot without getting eaten, shot or dragging a trail of God knows what back to your house, then go for it. I'd rather have one or two guns with 40lbs of rounds than a bunch of guns with not nearly enough ammo. Oh and grab a bunch of gun cleaner, because you are going to be shooting a gun that might still have too much packing grease in it which will cause it to malfunction. Do you find this valuable? |

"There are a lot of pro's and cons to Mall's.the dawn of the dead (remake) movie was cool but the only reason they live so well was they were at the mall very early in da' morn when the virus attack all at once so there was no time to do anything.. BUT, there are alot of cons in mall living from vunerlable spots for zombies to crash to just having the whole neighborhood crashing your party quickly.. i say you get wind of a virus spreading depending on the time , if its early i would crash the mall get my stuff and be outta there b4 cannibals or cannies come around.. "suppose that is a little contradicting. i just feel the benefit of a huge sack of guns and ammo outweighs the risks of running 600 yards."I'd rather live. I suppose with adrenaline you could do more for longer. When I moved into my new place, I was carrying a big duffel bag with about 1000 rounds of 7.62x39, 250 shotgun shells, and about 250 rounds of .45. I also had two 12gauges slung over my shoulder. I only had to carry it across a parking lot and upstairs, but that bag was HEAVY. I'll grab what I can carry comfortably and hope I can make a second trip. Do you find this valuable? |

If your gonna raid a a place like that, make sure you are the first there, bring a truck, and pray for clear roads. Seriously, weapons and ammo = weight. Just how much you planning on carrying? 80lbs or bad @ss weapons and ammo + your 20lb BOB. Your not going to do much in the way running if you run into problems. Also, you better scope the place out now. Find what weapons you want and where they are stored, where the ammo you will need is, and where extra magazines are. You will need to get in and out quickly, load up and be prepared to flee or engage in a firefight quickly. Good luck. Do you find this valuable? |

Im not sure if this was fully brought up? Malls most of the time are crowded. Now saying that theres alot of noise. Lots of noise = lots of zombies. There for Malls willhave a good horde of zombies inside. Granted most of the things will be looted or stolen. So malls shouldn't be a last didch effert even for the most desperet. It's more of a con then a perk.

The closest mall near my house is 35 miles away in a medium size city of Battle Creek, MI. It's okay, and would probably be overlooked for the WalMart, Meijer, Sam's, and other stores in the area. The only things in it I think would be worth any thing would be the Dunhams sporting goods (a lot of rifles, ammo., mags., camping supplies, and etc.), GNC (supplements, vitamins, and etc.), and Sears (tools, gardening supplies, motorized implements, and small gas engines). I use to like to go to Jackson (45 miles from home), but they ruined it with filling it with shoe stores, EMO clothing stores, and added a WalMart to the end of it. Now all you get are stupid kids, old people, and loud and obnoxious morons. Do you find this valuable? |

"If your gonna raid a a place like that, make sure you are the first there, bring a truck, and pray for clear roads.from my 2nd story appartment i can smoke blunts and watch the cabelas mall entrance with binocluars. my plan would require a vehicle to transport the gun/supply bags to. i also doubt i could carry a large amount of weaponry and ammo much farther than my car waiting outside. i would pack my trunk full of guns and ammo and head back home! 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |
