I have now managed to procure all the items I need for survival.The CCTV,Razor wire and Motion sensors are set-up,but are not being factored into my post Z-day survival plan as I will be bugging out.I realized my last plan was too hi-tech and although in it's phases,was unworkable for the large part.

The main reason I am deciding to bug out is because I now have access to a remote log cabin in a mountainous area of NZ.There are multiple routes there and it's relatively well concealed.It also has good views and some excellent observation points(it belongs to an environmentalist relative of mine and is sparsely used for university and conservation work sporadically throughout the year).

I always keep tabs on international and domestic news,either through the paper,phone or internet.As soon as I get confirmation of a Zombie outbreak or similar scale disaster.As soon as this happens,my SHTF plan will go into place:

1.) Get home as quick as possible if not already there.I don't carry firearms on my person all the time.But I will always have access to a vehicle or other means of transportation.If I am too far from home then I will make my way to the Bug out location immediately(More than 30mins driving distance away,or if it's impossible to get home).

2.) Once I am home,I will immediately secure my BOB and Kit.This will take some time but I am counting on wit,awareness and the home security system to buy me time.This has been scaled down to include:

Suppressed rifle and handgun,multi-tool,canteen blah blah blah.

3.) Ensure vehicle is full and that exit is clear.Lock up if possible and bug out.Get on the road and don't stop.Fuel is stored at home(Enough to fill tank up) and pick up 4 friends(family live far away).Car is a Nissan Patrol 4WD.All of them will be armed.Will notify them by text message and call.I will only wait 5 minutes if clear for them unless they make contact with me otherwise, before moving on.

4.) We then proceed to the location,which I have prepared for SHTF situations.There is ammunition,stockpiled food & water as well as other living necessities their for a long term stay.

Excellent survival plans. can you give me tips on surviving zombie outbreak or any similar outbreak ? since i am newbie, i need all help i can get. will reply. Do you find this valuable?

It's a good plan, but I had a few questions:
Do you have detail specs about your weapons and supplies that you are taking in your BOB? I'm curious.
Don't you think text messaging and calling during the panic will be a problem? You most likely won't be the only one and they may not go through. What then?
Do you have a plan B in case your original BOL is compromised? Do you find this valuable?

If communications networks are down then I would weigh up the options of either physical exfil of the subjects or buggin' out without 'em.

My BOL is dynamic,so if the one isolated,hidden log cabin is compromised there are hundreds of other spots that I could utilize,been doing it since I was young.Also know the terrain and conditions of the back of my hand.

The weapons and gear I use I am familiar with.I stick to stuff I have used for hunting or in military service and I am not one of those MN fools that buy kit to show off over the internet.The greatest asset I believe one has is their mind.

Weapon is :

FN FAL with ACOG and tactical insight laser/light combo.7.62 is cheap and common and I trained on the SLR,it's british cousin(couldn't get an AUG which was my main service rifle,but used the SLR frequently in marksmanship comps).

Sig P226 Blackwater edition.Holster and light blah blah

As well as a folding knife,multi-tool and all the other stuff.

Just keep a weapon that you know how to use,stay fit and alert,and search through the forum for info from like minded individuals that don't judge. Do you find this valuable?
