How dangerous will spring be after Z-Day?
Oct 21 2011, 1:03 AM EDT
Lets take a step back for a second... its early winter, events have led you up neer the Canadian border. As the temperature drops you find yourself struggling. Then something happens, the zombies start freezing! Salvation? Maby... If your able to make it through the winter dont let your guard down. Come spring when everything thaws out so will the undead. If you find yourself in the colder climates set up decently, make it a point to hunt down some frozen corpsicles. With no danger of them attacking it will make dispatching them a breeze. Still take care when spring comes. The greatest danger lies in those unprepared. To themselves and to others as they become infected. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I could see it happening =^_^= I personally wouldn't be heading north though, the winters here in Southern Ohio are bad enough as it is. I do like Brooks' idea about zombies freezing though and would rather that plenty of poeple abandonned the warmer areas in favor of the colder ones, anything to cut back on the population around here. =^_^=

Spring thaws are also going to bring spring floods. Without man made and man controlled dams, the waters are going to build up, overwash, and occasional washout the dams. I believe that first spring is going to seriously challenge some major urban and suburban areas that have been built on land not suitable for construction without man controlling the waters. Frozen zeds might be easy to dispatch, but only if found (they will fall flat, look like other corpses, and be cover by even light snows). Clear out what you can, but use your time to prepare as winter would not be a permanent solution. Also, be on your guard during the winter. Smoke is going to be a clear signal of life in the frozen north - and there will be survivors, refugees, and raiders who will look for it. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Nobody will be clearing debris or unclogging stuff... even enough bodies can clog up stuff. I also agree with flash floods, but I am more concerned with what they might bring with them.. zombies, corpses, disease, great thing to have flushed down your well... Right on about the smoke. Max Brooks is right about having to keep on your guard for years afterwards.. Do you find this valuable? |

"Max Brooks is right about having to keep on your guard for years afterwards..Of zombies, disease, everything man made failing, raiders, or all of the above? If it is zombies, then who is correct? Max Brooks (viral zombies - reduced decay), George Romero (thinking zombies - who appeared to have reduced decay), or Robert Kirkman (zombies are subjected to the natural rate of decay and everyone has the zombie gene waiting to expose its nasty head) or Alex Garland\Rhett Reese\Paul Wernick (living zombies)? All of the above would definitely be on my mind with the first ZPAW spring. Do you find this valuable? |
