for years I've been trying to deter people from the Land Mine.
A. Your more likely to get killed by it than any enemy
B. Land Mines are made primarily as Anti-Personal I.E blowing off legs & Arms. You might kill 1 Zed but alert 100s to your locations
C. In the case of raiders most people will be very aware of a Land Mine hidden by a novice and can easily avoid it
D. Where are you finding land mines?
E. Do you have the slightest clue as to which type of land mine you'd need?

Sorry if that seemed to blunt but seriously Land Mines + Bad
Do you find this valuable?

And you think you are just going to find c4 laying around? Or you gonna make it out of playdo and gun powder? Cuz it wont work either... Land mines, unless used by a professional are a bad idea. You would probably lose a limb or your life trying to set it and conceal it properly. Also, your conscience going to handle killing or maiming a child that inadvertantly found you toy... If you were even able to find or fashion a usable device? Just something to think about...

Bomber99 please don't start threads about subjects you know nothing about. You couldn't even make a projectile launcher without breaking your hand, why on gods earth would you play with explosives? 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

Conventional land mines could be useful...if they were available. Posting mine field signs all around your base may be enough of a deterant.

I do love the claymore though. Nothing says "anti-personel" like the good old claymore mine. I also really like the idea of using improvised fougasses.

Alright, I've been dodging this one, because I thought it would just go away.

Land mines are, bar none, one of the most dangerous weapons used. They are unreliable, and faulty even under the best circumstances.

C-4 is not easily made, despite what the internet may tell you. There are very few "land mines" that are going to flip a car, or "shell shock"; they are meant to incapacitate/maim the enemy. Many are made with a delay in hopes of getting more than one person with shrapnel. Land mines are not, nor to my knowledge ever been used to just "shell shock" a person.. if what you mean by that, is to cause disorientation by concussion.

Claymores are more dependable, more stable, and serve more useful purposes. But getting your hands on one would be an amazing stroke of luck. Let alone getting enough of them to set up a perimeter.

Things could be improvised if absolutely needed but if bomber strings together a trap as well as he strings together a sentence I don't think we have much to worry about.

biggest thing to remember with landmines (not claymores) is that you need to step on/ disturb them for them to go boom. that makes them really ineffective in small numbers so unless you can make 50-100 of them and set them up without dying its a waste of time.
