Anyone else seen this?, on TV doing a 3 min. warning Nov 9th. That's kinda odd. That means the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). had to approve it..

Yeah, I saw this on the news. This is the first time since the start of the national ebs 15 years ago, I think is what the news said. It seems a little odd that they wait 15 years to test it nationally. I still think it is nothing to worry about. I think the government is starting to see just how touchy the economy is getting and how close it is to the edge and was like "oh $*** we might need to test this thing. Lol
But on another note, just because we have been told what it is, don't let your guard down; several agencies like local police depts and rescue squads are afraid this may cause panic if not properly communicated to the public beforehand. So the test of the warning system, the very thing designed to help us, could inadvertantly hurt us. Lol

Why is it odd? do you think the feds are planning an emergency? They are testing an improved system. Every paper in Pa is discussing it and that there will be no need to call 911 so if it was real wy do alert and then tell everyone not to call 911? Do you find this valuable?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but That is dripping with sarcasm... I'm not nieve to think that they are "planning an emergency." I'm just saying that 15 years is a long time to wait to do this. Why now? They have always had this capability according to the fcc website, and just never tested it on this level. Y not do an initial when the system came online. Nothing on the fcc website says anything about an improved system test. It refers to a test to assess the current system to help improve it.
I'm just saying there its some merit to the idea that it could inadvertantly cause panic if the cops are concerned for that very aspect.

Does this have any corralation with the earthquakes? I saw something on the news for certain areas around DFW/ North Texas to prepare for something, an earthquake I think it was. Do you find this valuable?
