Health and Fitness

Being a Navy Corpsman I find Health and Fitness very important....Being physically fit allows your body to survive greater amounts of damage as well as recover from injury faster. A good first aid kit is imperative. You will need bandages and dressings, tape, splints, chem ice and hot packs, tampons, maxi pads, iodine, bleach, surgical implements, stitch kits, liquor, different NSAIDS, aspirin, IV fluids, antibiotics, narcotic pain killers, and so on...Best sources for these supplies are pharmacies, doctor's offices and hospitals. The size and inventory of your kit would depend on: number of people to be supported and availability of supplies. If supplies can be easily found and replaced, you can carry less.Physical fitness, I would recommend a routine of calisthenics, stretching and hand to hand combat exercises. These will keep you fit, motivated and prepared for high stress situations. The physical exercise will keep you mentally balanced and help you catch some Z's when the oppurtunity presents itself. If anyone has additional input let me know. Thanks 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?
