December 15th, 2012
Austin, TX
5K obstacle course, complete with zombies trying to "eat your brains" (or steal your flags)
Charity recipient is the American Red Cross

I'm considering participating in this one because it's fairly close and because there's more than a whole year to train up for it. I'm not a runner, period, so I'll need all the time I can get to train for it. Is anyone else interested in doing this? I know we got a whole lot of Texans around...

An obstacle course with zombies? Oh man I can't wait for this to come to Portland in August. This makes the warrior dash look completely lame. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

That looks pretty cool! Make sure to run the short path or you will be running around 6 to 7 miles. Perhaps, you should train by running up to 10 miles, 5 days a week just in case you take the long path. Running sprints and doing push ups will help as well.

I'm definitely thinking of doing this, provided I can find a decent job after I graduate next month. I'm not gonna be able to do it otherwise - at the bare minimum, it's a road trip for me.

Is anyone else in the area interested in doing this with me? It's cool if nobody else wants to participate, but I think if a few folks are down we might can make up a few T-shirts and run the course as a group.

If I was in the area, I would most definitely run the course with you. If you can find someone, it is good to train together as well.

Well, if it happens 5 days after the event, me and everyone else who participates will be in top physical form... provided that they don't fall and twist their ankle on an obstacle! Do you find this valuable?

I was down visiting my kids in Illinois this summer and they had one of those. She and her boyfriend were entered in it. Had Zombies chasing them all over the obstacle course...Lent a new dimension to it. was fun to watch. Do you find this valuable?

I'd love to say I would go, but a year from now who knows where I'll be or what I'll be doing. I've moved 3 times in the past 6 months as it is.

If I'm still in the Ozark region then I'll definitely try to make it, given that I get a reminder in about 8 months lol :)

This looks like a lot of fun, I am definitely adding it to my running schedule for next year. I only have one 5K for June of 2012 now, so this gives me two.

I will need to put in some extra climbing exercises in to my work outs.

An idea, how about anyone who runs in one get a t-shirt printed with ZSDW, the wiki website address, and that persons sight name.
