What do you think would cause the zombie apacolypse

Normally I am the last one to find out about stuff and hopefully I am in this case because I don't want to sound like a complete idiot. Have you heard that Britain is weaponizing a virus that is known to turn the victims into zombies

I havent heard anything about Britain (or mexico) weaponizing a Zombie virus, but i do believe I have an answer to help. The zombie Apocolypse will start with a strand of the Rabies virus found in rabid animals. The starnd of rabies is known as Solonum. after going through excurciating pain, you will go into a coma within 12-15 hours. By 22 hours the effects will fully kick in and you will have very little brain function. it will spread even more rapidly then rabies and will be intense. 1 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

No racism or stereotyping, but as the population of china grows a virus that spreads through sexual intercourse (like AIDS) may be the beginning of the zombie apocalypse.

The Chinese are no more or less promiscious that any other people group. Traditionally less so, though the long term consequences of the one child policy have increased the demand for prostitution as the population skews more and more male.An airborn rabies variant would do the job (with the added joy of not needing a bite to be infected and a wide swath of infections before anyone showed signs). 2 out of 2 found this valuable. I mean what kind of idiocy would people at the MOD have to have in order to turn to the press and say "hey, guess what we're making? Zombies!" and anyone to leak that information would be signing their own death warrant, without a shadow of a doubt. I wouldn't be surprised if some similar kind of biological warfare was being tested somewhere in the world, by some crazy government with too much money (cough-america-cough) but i doubt we'd ever hear about it as fact. The rumour will always be there regardless of the truth. AIDS was created by the british government at portland down, and we know thousands of civilians and miliatary personel were tested with all manner of germ warfare in th US, UK, Germany and Japan (off the top of my head) in the past century. Hopefully, though, if somebody succeeeds in making a Z virus, they'l be smart enough to keep it contained. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

A naturally occurring and/or weaponized virus.There is always a chance for nanotechnology to cause a form of zombification. Although, we are currently a long way away from this. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Man-made virus or chemical/drug, either made by a private company or federal agency. Or possibly a brain parisite. I haven't heard about the Britain thing, but I think it's interesting. And StrykerPez, thanks for the logic in the above post. Solonum was invented by Max Brooks, son of the /comedian/ Mel Brooks, to make money. EDIT: The existance of 'zombies' is somewhat debatable. . . 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Thus, Japan has a lower population than China, but a higher population density. Bejing China, however, has a locally higher population density than most of Japan. None of that matters, however, if, as you suggest, Zombieism is spread as a sexually transmitted disease (STD). The Chinese may be having a lot more sex than others, but are they individually having sex with more diverse partners? Promiscuity drives STDs (though population density does tend to increase the speed with which STDs move through a population). 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

My bet is on a disease vector, aka virus, etc.. I'd expect either a naturally occurring mutation or an escaped, weaponized one gone horribly wrong. Im also not 100% certain that the only means of transmission would be a bite, and not convinced of the flesh eating effects. Hordes of flesh eating "undead," seem unlikely. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

No zombie viruses out there. The closest thing will be a man made genetically engineered mutation designed for bio warfare that gets loose and causes a rabies like virus. You can bet money that countries, probably even our own, are designing such a virus that would cause the enemy to attack their own troops and would be spread via bite, body fluids or ingestion of some contaminated source. The traditional reanimated zombie isn't gonna happen. The infected won't be dead, but will be living and in attack mode like a rabid animal. Far more dangerous than your shuffling Romero zombie, because they will have much greater dexterity. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
