Three Gauge Gun
Dec 2 2011, 12:20 AM EST
I was browsing the web when I came across this...http://centerfiresystems.com/flare-rv85.aspx As I surfed looking for flares and other ammo I found this little item... http://www.americanspecialtyammo.com/26_5mm.html (The third Item down) That turns the Flare Rifle into a 12 gauge single shot, and as I surfed on found these... http://www.americanspecialtyammo.com/Shotgun_Adapters.html If you combine these items you can easily turn a long barreled flare rifle into a three gauge survival shotgun Do you find this valuable?

"I was browsing the web when I came across this...Dont think I have ever seen a long barreled flare rifle. In the reality of it, you would be better off with a 12 gauge shotgun. Do you find this valuable? |

You do realize that by 12 gauge, they mean a 12 gauge flare, and not a 12 gauge shotgun shell (i.e. buck, bird, etc), right? I would hesitate to shoot anything but a flare out of a flare gun. I've had heard only stories, but it does not usually end well from what I understand.I agree with OutlawJames, you'd be better off (and properly safer) to have just a shotgun, and not trying anything weird with a flare gun. 12 Gauge flares have next to no pressure on the gun, hence flare guns being made out of cheap materials. An actual shot load would make them explode.IMO, just carry a 26.5mm flare pistol. 12 flares are notoriously ineffective, but at least a flare pistol doesn't take up too much real estate. Not a good idea dude. Flares from shotgun = Okay. Shotshells from flare gun = NOT okay
