.22 Weapon Set and use.

This is to describe what .22 LR weapons you would use and what would the use be.

I would have a Ruger Mark III pistol (haven't decided what optic to use). I would attach a Lazer/Flashlight combo to the under rail, and of course a .22 Suppressor.

The use of this is to be a defensive weapon.

I feel that it would be better to dispatch the occasional zombie lumbering up to my barricaded building quickly and quietly. I don't want to leave my safe shelter in the dark and focus my attention on one zombie and be grabbed from behind. The zombies i get during the night will be easier and safer to remove them during the day.

It will also be used to traverse areas when I am undetected by the horde.

If I get separated, or don't feel like running my but off from a swarm of zombies ill pass through populated areas with this firearm first until I get attention then switch to my runin' gun. This would also be used to and from the base to keep from luring zombies near the "safe zone"

I will also use it to clear buildings without going deaf, blind, or undead.

If you enter a building undetected, you can clean the house of undead. The sound of the gun won't attract zombies from out side trapping you in a house to fight out of. This would be helpful to get a temporary base in a zombie area for the night.

Suppressor Legality. For me in my area i would need to file for approval through the ATF send in finger prints and paperwork, when approved (and $200 later) I can purchase one at my local dealer! The Mark III comes threaded so I dont need to get it worked on.
(Yes I am aware I will run out of batteries)

My "big guns" will (and are) my Saiga 12, PSL 7.62x54, and SR-1911(ETA Unknown).

"Tapco T6 stock"
http://www.cabelas.com/stocks-grips-accessories-tapco-ruger-10-22-ar15-t6-stocks-150-black-2.shtml

I like, looks NICE.

What would be its useful scenario you plan on using it for?

With your stock choice any one in your group could comfortably use it from kid to 7 ft man.

I would get the "tactical trainer" which you can use the bull barrel in. Any scenario, I am on the fence with this, a 20 ga 870 or my SKS as my primary (Although I may be looking at a Mossberg 500 Persuader tomorrow)

Scrounging, hunting, zombie killing. It is light, cheap, cheap ammo, enough damage to kill at closer ranges.

Which is good, my gf is 5'2" I am a foot taller.

I have a S&W 22A1 that would make an excellent "Zombie Executor" as well as a small game gun.
My Springfield Model 22 (Try finding one of those =p) that would make an excellent gun for quietly dispatching Zombies and shooting small animals for the dinner table. My Single shot Ithaca 22 is an excellent gun for stowing in a bag because of it's size, and it's a great gun to teach new users on.
I'll probably pick up a Ruger 10/22 again one of these days, it's use would be the same as the Springfield.

I'd like one of Savage's Mark 2 FV-SRs with a Nikkon rimfire scope, a bi-pod and a suppressor. Without the suppresor the barrel is only 16" long. It would be a handy little rifle.

My family has a bunch of .22s lying around that'd be good for general use.
Marlin Model 983- .22 magnum bolt action. Great for small game hunting, and accurate as hell. I killed my first deer with it.
Marlin Model 60- Again, good for small game hunting. Very light and easy to carry arounf.
Heritage Rought Rider-.22 single-action revolver. Not my first choice for combat, but it'll work fine in the right hands. My mom, for example, loves it.

Also, I'm interested in getting one of the Ruger .22 autos; they seem very nice.

I'd like to get a .22 for plinking, but I prefer to have something a bit larger sitting in my desk drawer. Do you find this valuable?

Weapons set:

Primary: Remm. Charger .22

Secondary: Colt .22 Pistol

Both really nice guns. As far as reliablility, I haven't heard complaints about them yet (though I'd feel much better shooting them myself)

I would prefer both of them suppressed, but I would have to double check with my states law on that.

I def plan on getting a couple of .22s, one rifle for the son (plus tiny and cheap ammo), and one pistol with suppressor. Maryland is a pain, but still do-able, after special ATF/State Tax of $600+ (maybe $800?). I def plan on getting it, though, as I think a quiet kill will be...heh...priceless. That'd be one helluva Mastercard commercial. Do you find this valuable?

No special tax in Md just the Federal $200 tax/ fee for the stamp the same that you have to pay in any other state that allows suppressos.

I live in Md. and I had no trouble getting approved for the suppressor I have .One thing you have to understand is that the police have no idea what the rules or law is on how to go about this.
When I got my first class 3 weapon I called the State police and they told me to go to my local Stape Police and get finger printed and fill out the forms. I did, sent them in. Several months laater I get a call from State Police asking why I went to my local State Police because I was supposed to go to the State Police main barracks in Baltimore!

In Md. call the State Police main barracks and explain what you are doing. They should tell you to come in to fill out A concealed carry application.Bring a pass port photo with you. They will finger print you and then do a background check. In a few weeks you get the paper work back which you then send with $200 to the feds along with the federal paper work. DONT give this money to the State police [ I had a local police sstation want me to pay them !]
Then wait till you get approved, In my cases the feds were faster then the State police

Its really not that hard, just have to know what to do. If you buy the suppresor from a dealer [ Isee them at every gun show] he should prove very helpful

I need to get around to buying a 10/22 sometime soon as a general purpose plinking and small game hunting gun. We've got two .22 rifles now (a single shot and a Mossberg 702) but I'm not really happy with either one for those roles. Once I get a 10/22, I'll probably just throw a scope on it. Maaaybe a folding stock if I feel like getting wild.

I also want to buy a .22 suppressor for my GSG 1911, but more for fun than for any zombie fighting plans.
