Help Wanted: Fellow Writers and Up
Dec 8 2011, 3:30 PM EST
So, I'm thinking of starting a disscussion on (yes, I know it might sound a bit mall ninja, but wait to see what I have to say before laughing) zombie fighting tactics. For groups, solo, weapons usage, traps, posbbily even good defensive formations for a horde charging at you. A couple threads and then a page for "living ragers," "undead shamblers," and 'undead runners' should work, I think. If any of you would like to help me with the pages it would be much appreciated, as I will be putting a good deal of my limited time on here working on the Mexico Survival Guide. Ps. Anyone interested in helping with the Mexico Survival Guide, let me know about that, too. Do you find this valuable? |

Hmm . . . I may be able to churn a page or two out about zombie fighting tactics. I think I'll do one on on ragers and one on shamblers (It would fit nicely into the pages I'm planning discussing the various zombie archetypes and their individual pros/cons).

Maybe some information on what you're planning to post and how to format and I could be of more help. . . I was thinking of collectiong opinions on the tactics in a thread before we start making pages. Do you find this valuable? |

I'm not officially a ZSDW writer yet, but I think I could be.One good resource that at least should bear consideration would be Roger Ma's Zombie Combat Manual. I'm not saying it's all solid gold, but some of it seems pretty legit to me, and that's with me trying to consciously poke holes in his ideas. Of course, they mostly apply to shamblers... I assume you're talking more specifically melee, or should this include initial 'ranged combat' before the horde closes? 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

It will cover all kinds of tactics we can think of and work with, and ranged combat is very important, and the tactics thereof need to be discussed. . .

What about roles of different people in your "squad"? That could play a decisive role on the tactics you might use. (ie you take out the close ones while your buddy with an M1A hits some at a distance). Also, though, I think if you are doing this project that you should include tactics for combat against raiders and other intelligent people.

How about this: I'll make my pages discussing the three zombie archetypes you stated in the OP and link them to whatever pages you can make (I can provide a few paragraphs for you to add in as you see fit, if you want).

"Ps. Anyone interested in helping with the Mexico Survival Guide, let me know about that, too.I am putting a lot of time into the Canada Survival Guide and my knowledge of Mexico is limited but I'd be glad to help with any necessary page structuring, research, and writing. You can make a thread on the Mexico Survival Guide page to discuss putting the page/section together with anyone involved in the working on the page. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
