Out of space to keep editing above, so gotta add on this....Besides, tampons and other modern female hygiene products aren't the only thing people have always used. Ever heard the expression, "She's on the rag?" and wondered where it comes from? Well, a small RAG was used instead of tampons back before those convenient plastic covered sponges were around. Scraps of old clothes, towels, etc. could be used for other things than bandaging... I know all us big tough guys find it "icky" and would rather not know (I'm definitely that way myself) but in order to survive, we gotta think outside of the box. Sometimes, we might might need to use comes from within a light blue or bright pink box. Do you find this valuable? |

They're a useful item. But, it is getting a bit out of hand. The plan isn't a bad one, just assume that everyone else will react in the same way and plan accordingly. You should also make a backup plan it at least an idea on what to do if your original plan fails.

"DEAR LORD PLEASE SHUT UP ABOUT TAMPONS"They're useful though, not only as the intended purpose but stopping bleeding, cleaning guns. Are you shy about it? LJ: "EDIT: More notes, uses, etc. I might write an entire article about the alternative uses of tampons" DO IT!! Do you find this valuable? |

"http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/thread/4813586/Zero+Tolerance+for+TrollingUhhh... Maybe I should point a few sections out of the CoC: "You may not bait/troll users. Bait / Trolling is defined as posting with a clear intent to provoke anger, incendiary posts, and behavior that results in other users violating the CoC." In fact, I could easily argue that your post is incendiary and meant solely to disrupt to flow of this conversation, because you're essentially accusing me of trolling this thread. That's a clear case on "baiting" a staff member, which is also outlined in the CoC: "You may not bait, insult, flame, or otherwise abuse a staff member." I was CLEARLY just joking around, poking fun at the OP for spazzing in all caps (something else that's prohibited in the CoC) in a lighthearted manner. Don't be "that" guy, you know... the one I use as an example. I don't like having to be heavy-handed, but I'm not afraid of dishing out vacation time. Let's get this conversation back on the freaking ball, finally. Do you find this valuable? |

"Lighten up Epic. If you bothered to read more you would notice that cracking wise is how many many of us communicate.comment #41 clearly shows that the discussion made the OP uncomfortable as she asked everyone to " please shut up about tampons". Continuing to push the subject after that is what we in the U.S. refer to as Harassment. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

Now since things aren't awkard (for now)... how far in the country do you live? as in how long of a car ride is it to civilization? cause that will be a huge factor to when you need to bug out, fighting thousands of others on clogged roadways is a good way to get killed. Also since you have a plethora of pets and lots of goats, do you know how to raise the goats and get more goats for food sources and milk? and do you have other farm animals like pigs, cows, chickens, etc. ? Well, my closest neighbor is about a 1/5 mile away. I live about 10 minutes from a town with a population of like 4000. I live 3 hours away from LA.I do in fact have chickens, and yes we could possibly get goat milk- we've done it many times, its delicious. We also have two dogs. And we also have excess of goats, so there you have it: meat. Do you find this valuable? |

Truth be told, 3 hours away from LA is still what I would consider "danger close" to the area. The first and second wave of evacuees that leave for your direction will likely be running out of fuel right in your neck of the woods (as most cars get between 180-300 miles in a tank, which in time translates to 3-5 hours on the road), meaning they'll probably be stopping for fuel right where you live. Taking panicked "escape traffic" into consideration, even the cars with excellent fuel economy might be stopping in for a fill up.When local gas stations run out of fuel or become too busy for people to get gas, they will either begin walking to their intended destination or begin looking for alternative forms of travel that's available on site - IE, stealing your ride, horse, bike, whatever they can get. This could get really nasty - plan on things "getting loud." People would be your biggest threat at first, not zombies. Do you find this valuable? |
