ZSDW WELCOME WAGON!!
Dec 12 2011, 4:01 PM EST
If you're new to the site and haven't introduced yourself, go ahead and do so here! We're all members here for the same reasons - we all love zombie movies and wonder, "What will happen if it really did happen? What would I do? Is my family safe?" That's what the site is all about. Contained within is a wealth of survival skills and preparedness knowledge, as well as product reviews and gear ideas from seasoned survival-types. There's also a lot of lighthearted discussions and what-if scenarios to wrap your brain around. If you have any questions, feel free to open up a new thread and ask the crew. Don't mind some of the grouchier members here; we can't figure out what's wrong with them, but we theorize that they either smoked too much or were dropped as infants! However, most people here are very friendly and understanding that the new folks don't yet know the ropes, and will be more than happy to point you in the right direction. If anyone harasses you (we've had some problems with that) let me or another moderator/administrator know - we're more than happy to set things straight. It would definitely benefit you to check out the site and get to know your way around, but the content inside the Administration and Moderation Articles section on the left is especially important. There are a few "newbie" guides, our Code of Conduct, and information about the ZSDW staff members. Most of the content on our site is oriented towards adult-aged users, but that doesn't mean horseplay isn't allowed... just be mindful of others' feelings when you post and you'll be fine! Please fill out your profile if you haven't done so. We'd love to learn more about you! Send me a PM if you need any help putting it together, I'm more than happy to help out. BTW - I'm Jon. Nice to meet you. Thanks again for joining the site! 9 out of 10 found this valuable. Do you?

Howdy, Logan here straight out of northern Minnesota.Been lurking for a while here. Recently I have started moving more towards practical survival application and preperation instead of just theorizing about it. I have the beggings of a plan and a good skill set and am hoping to supplement these with stuff from here. From just browsing it seems like there are a bunch of people here that really know their stuff. 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

Welcome to ZSDW. I too have finally made the shift from theorizing to actually doing. Now I just need to actually be less lazy and organize the stuff into BOB/BIK/Car bags and figure out what needs to go where. It is a great place, though a few of the old bears are a bit grumpy. Just wink at em and leave em alone for a minute, and the rest of us will throw gummy worms at them. :) Any questions, let us know. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

So a friend actually posed the "what if" question the other day and it got the gears turning. First reaction is to go online and see how this differs from your typical disaster planning and it is different for obvious reasons. I have been watching for a bit, commented on a few things but here I am officially. I'm with Army Military Intel, can't say more than that and it's not to sound badass or anything; I really can't say. While I'm not an expert in anything, I like to think I can provide a more common sense approach to most problems. Thanks for letting me join!

Don't worry, lots of active/veteran military types on here. C'mon, we wouldn't be a great 'crazy people' site if we didn't have some military types here.Welcome to the site. Make sure to check out the newbie guides and other wonderful pages on the home page. Lots of good information, most of it designed to a) quickly educate you to survive zombies. B) educate you to survive the forums. :) They aren't that bad, but taking the effort to read the stuff will definitely give you points when you start posting more regularly. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. The second Marsden to be on this site. Hopefully, the last one too!I'm the brother of the long time admin, Marsden, and hopefully I'll be following in his footsteps. I suppose he was the person who got me into zombes I the first place, though I've only watched the odd movie or played the odd game. I can't wait to contribute to the site! 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Hey Everyone, I'm Anom.I'm 23yrs old and I live in Columbia, MO. I work as a videographer, and absolutely love watching zombie movies, At some time I'd love to film one. I'm becoming kind of a survival nut, and as such I'm always looking at ways to make myself more self sufficient. One of my goals in life is to build a steam-powered truck, a vehicle which is not dependent upon fossil fuels. I'm always looking to encase my knowledge and get to a point of total self-sufficiency. While this website is for talking and planning for some Zombie epidemic, most if not all skills here can be taken and put into other survival situations such as natural disasters. The BOB will help in any disaster you could possibly come up with just as an example. Do you find this valuable? |
