An expert's stats and opinion on weapons
Dec 24 2011, 6:03 PM EST | Post edited: Dec 24 2011, 6:03 PM EST
I may be only 15, but I know a lot about anti-zombie weaponry. Every Saturday I will post a melee weapon and anyone who reads this thread can place what they believe are the pros and cons of that weapon. 4  out of 18 found this valuable. Do you?

You cannot know anything about anti zombie weapons because they don't exist.... 12  out of 14 found this valuable. Do you?

Are you implying that you are the expert? You are new, and I'm not trying to be rude, but why would anyone take advice from a 15 year old when it comes to weapons? Serious question

The name and quote for this thread just sounded good at the time. So you two just lay off me, okay? The weapon of the week is the axe. 1  out of 8 found this valuable. Do you?

That's no excuse really. They're both right. Zombies do not exist and you're 15 while many of the members here are far older with much more experience under their belts.

Saying zeds don't exist and therefore you're not an expert on anti zed weapons does not mean me and possum are being douches, down voting posts that tell the truth is being a douche. I used to get bullied a lot too, get over it

..............I'm going to go the high road and address the legitimate problems with this thread maturely.

I don't like to down people for their age (I'm not to awful old myself despite my looks). But at 15 I doubt you're really much of a practiced or trained expert on anything. To say that you're an expert tends to come across as ignorant; whether or not you mean it. You mentioned the axe. Do you have personal experience using an axe as a weapon or tool? Have you ever felled a tree or chopped wood? Have you ever practiced swinging the axe at a target?

Zombies don't exist at this point in time; ergo one cannot be a zombie expert. It might be better to say something along the lines of "I think that X weapon would be well suited to killing a slow (Romero) type of zombie as seen in Day of the Dead."

There are already a plethora of melee weapon threads, you might just use the search bar and see if a thread for said melee weapon has already been posted. If you try that it's always good to dig up fairly recent threads (None over a few months old).

This is a text based forum; emotions are lacking or hard to convey in a text only environment. Don't take people criticizing or questioning things personally. Just be respectful and reply maturely (Try and acknowledge their point if they make a valid point; as many have on this thread so far).

and by the way there are real zombies. look up "haitian zombies" or "zombies in Haiti" on the internet, you should find a news article about it. 1  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

Thank you oldannyboy37, and i do believe that the axe, depending on the size, would be better suited for a slow moving zombie. I have swung an axe before because by family owns a woodsplitting axe i have helped split logs for our fireplace during the winter and i realize that axes are very heavy and slow. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Most of that is based on legend and not fact. There is no current method of reanimating a dead body.
The real "zombie" that most of those refer to is nothing more than a VERY drugged up human being that's in a state of near death from neurotoxins and other ingredients. Even with that most of the claims are still not even close to being proven.

If you look up the definition of "zombie", it goes abit like this: 'one who has taken on a deadlike appearance and has no free will and/or control over their own body.' Do you find this valuable?

Zombie (Haitian Creole: zonbi; North Mbundu: nzumbe) is a term used to denote an animated corpse brought back to life by mystical means such as witchcraft.

Haitian zombies are folklore.

And I too like the axe, but I have guns so I would not carry one. Hatchet maybe but not full size axe

Anyway, I believe that large axes like woodsplitting axes are only good for slow zombies and crawling ( broken or no legs) zombies, due to their weight and tendency to throw their weilder off balance.

Lycan, word of advice: in the future, don't join any forum and claim to be an expert, especially when you are young and it's in reference to something that is, for all intents and purposes, fictional.

It's fine if you want to give your opinions and weapons. But I'd advise against calling yourself an expert and then becoming defensive. History has taught us that those who call themselves "experts" usually aren't.

I split about 14 cord of wood a year, now a days I use a hydraluc splitter, but I have used a mull to split wood. An axe is not heavy enough, nor wide enough to split logs more than about six inches in diameter. I heat my entire house with wood I know what I am talking about. Do you find this valuable?

ooh did you hear about nanobots reanimating dead bodies? NOW THAT's scary

and an axe can't stop a swarm of nanobots broksi xD

In fact Lycan, I'm gonna be super nice to you instead of honest like my amazing friends that commented before i got here (lol)

There's like... 200 or something threads voting up each single weapon(thats 200 times every weapon xD)and 300 voting it down...

Because everyone has a different education level, age, competence, knowledge, and opinion.

Although you know.. getting zombie blood on you accidently kinda blows any argument you have for using ANY melee, some people just like to wield a bloody claymore and skullf*ck the masses with the tip of a broadhead(yeah that's right PaganArcher, i called you out xD)

Lycan, what you need to do is not worry about the effectiveness of an item against a zombie. My rule of thumb is "if it'll kill, mame, or stagger a human, it'll do in a zed"

Maybe you should talk with your parents about getting into some things..like maybe archery.. or(like me) throwing knives.. but recreational only..

Or you can do what my father did this year and buy me a gun.. a ruger 10/22 should be nice. Trust me. I'm a bit older than ya, so don't worry.

Just.. lay off the zombie stuff.. it don't work too well with others... voice of experience
