Plaster Arm Casts in a Zombie Apocalypse
Dec 25 2011, 8:56 AM EST
I just thought of something. Lets say you had plaster casts on your arms. The plaster casts would protect your arms from bites, and you could use them to push and hit zombies away without getting cut. Do you think this would be a useful item to have on your arms?

I assume you are talking about plaster as an armor. Lets also assume you are also only considering armor vs. zeds.Sure plaster would be OK as an armor vs bites. It would leave joints vulnerable and be a PITA to remove. Im not going to talk about other things that could be used as armor or their qualities because searching the site yields many other threads and discussions about armor. Do you find this valuable? |

Off topic, but a good way to make a cast in an emergency is to put a sock over the arm and hand, cutting out finger holes, then splint it with a piece of wood and wrap it with a ton of duct tape. My dad did this with great success when he refused to go to the hospital.

They would also weigh you down. Feel like running from zombies carrying an extra thirty pounds? If the zombies drag you down they can bite places that aren't plastered.

Also, casts beat the sh*t out of your skin. Smells bad, becomes a place for bacteria to hang out, turns pale and sickly . . . no, I'd steer very clear of plaster armor. Very clear. Like, I'd just forget about it.
