Any good melee weapons I can make with stuff around the house?
Dec 28 2011, 12:49 AM EST | Post edited: Dec 28 2011, 12:49 AM EST
I am in Canada so I cant get guns (that I know of) So when Z-day comes around I am stuck with Bats and knives. If you can tell me what are good melee weapons I can make around the house or if I can make something that fires shots? It would be great help! thanks! Do you find this valuable?

If Canadians can't get guns we have some liars around here.

I'm pretty sure that if you just spend some time online, researching your country's gun laws you'll find out that it isn't impossible to "get" guns. Just inconvenient.

It's like this Christmas shopping season when I was trying to find Skylanders for my son. They weren't impossible to get. Just inconvenient. I found that if you throw enough elbows and stomp enough toes that those suburban moms will back off and let you get your hands on the last stealth elf.

Jesus another person that doesn't know their own countries gun laws.

So my guns are something I "couldn't" get eh?

Do some research kid.

As for mêlée, use things that are already there, axes, shovels, hoes, other gardening tools

Ok, the single best melee weapon you can get your hands on is a prybar. Usually, if you can find yourself a nice 4 foot model, such as what you'd find in any mechanic's toolbox, the thing will have sufficent mass to implode any zombie's skull and will also come in handy for opening any stuck doors, or other such escape routes, if the **** should happen to hit the fan. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. If a basebal bat or a crowbar isnt enough how about a Naily Stick?

Check out Timberrattler's warhammer

I like pike! Take a long length of copperr pipe, use a clawhammer to form the end into a point. For extra credit drill a hole and insert a landscape spike for a cross bar.

To a length of furring strip, lash a 10" french chef knife for a rough glaive

Using an extension cord, attach a cooking knife for a kusari gama

Not aiming this at you Superking, but i find it funny that so many persons from other countries don't try to look up gun laws within their respective areas on the internet, Google is your friend people, please bond with it.

This is a website (http://www.canadianlawsite.ca/gunlaws.htm#a), that i found on my first search regarding Canadian Gun Laws, just type that exact thing into a Google search bar and you will have any answers you need very quickly. I also think very few foreigners believe owning firearms is an important thing, unlike us Americans who make it a mandatory way of life, God (Fake Deity IMO) bless the USA, (not religious myself, not trying to offend others).

As for your topic Superking, quick, effective items for use as weapons would be something with preferably a little length, (IE, baseball bat, crow bar, tire iron, etc.), but as for some type of projectile weaponry, i would suggest just learning and obtaining your license for a firearm asap.

Not very helpful i know, i kinda just wanted to add my two cents in regarding foreigners and knowing their gun laws.

Try tying a rope around the loop hole of a pipe wrench or other similar object.
As for premade melee weapons, I like the Stanley Fubar.

"Yeah....not trying to offend anyone....."fake deity""
Lol, I would never do something like that, did you edit my post?

Seriously though, it was not my intent to offend anyone, just a statement of my belief, i even edited it just to make sure no persons become offended, and if they do now, well then sc*** them all, jk :)....

As for the Canadian Gun Law page here at the zed wiki, was not aware of that and thanks for the info. Guess i should have also mentioned to do a quick search of the wiki for things like that, we probably have more info on the subject then Google anyway...

I get this all the time. Even educated Canadians seem to think that its impossible to get any kind of firearms.

I legally own lots of guns...thats the truth.

Super...what part of Canada do you live in...and how old are you?

As far as improvised melee weapons go...I advise against it. Homemade weapons may fail at the worste possible times. Dont be a cheep ass-hat. Buy a good ax or a tomahawk...something...so you dont have to run around with a bunch of kitchen knives duck taped to a table leg.
