My advice would be to re list your items, but group them together i.e. instead of a huge list, split into sections such as "first aid", "food" and "weapons" etc. Makes it easier for us to analyse what you have.

As for your pack, be weary of the size of it. The more it can hold the more you'll be tempted to put in it. 30 - 40L IMO should be enough for a BOB. As for food, type in "Ration packs" and see what you get. Some are quite expensive but you can pick up old British Army 24 hr ones for about £7.00 - £10-00.

It's pretty hard to present things in an orderly fashion on a thread . . .

Although, I agree, you maybe should edit your post and reorganize the list to be easier to read.

How about shelter? You may want to give a lot of thought to that. I made a page a while back that discusses it. It's right here: http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/page/Sleeping+Alone

Also, you should add paracord. That stuff's beastly. You can make snares with it (Though you may want to use wire for that, which, incidentally, you should also include in your B.O.B), wear it as a bracelet (http://budk.com/Self-Defense/United-Elite-Forces-Black-Survival-Bracelet?), etc. So many things survival related and not. Anybody here will back me up on this.

Concur about grouping things by their usage. IMHO paracord is over rated. I prefer 2.75 kernmantle. I also like 50 lb dacron leader line for snares as well as fishing.

x-wolf pointed out the glaring insufficiency: shelter. A few trash bags would be a good start. Hmm, 10 tent pegs, I guess you have a tent that you will carry separately.

You don't need a tent a poncho will do, its smaller, lighter and can be concealed easier. It doesn't take all day to put up either.

SGT you are right a poncho is a great item for quick shelter. Trash bags can be used the same way. I wasnt suggesting a tent., merely that since the OP has tent pegs perhaps he has a tent also (not listed since it isnt IN the BOB?)

Im still torn as to whether Im going to have a tube tent with my BOB or something else. I have a 9'x12' tarp in my BOV. I think I want something more substantial in/on my BOB than just a poncho though. My jury is still out on it. They want more evidence on cost, weight, and bulk.

Oh by all means have a bigger tent if you have a BoV. I'd just get paranoid about not having enough time to tear it down if SHTF.

But as for your BoB I don't think their worth it. Think about how much room a poncho takes up, now compare that with a tent. Besides, ponchos can be used for more than thing such as stretchers, waterproof anaracks etc.
