You might find someone who has used one of those bags, but I doubt you'll find anyone that has used both. That's the only way to compare the two. The first person who comes along and says "I have xxxxx pack and it's great!" will probably make up your mind.

You may want to read indepth descriptions of each and look for youtube reviews by COMPETENT people. Then take what you are looking for in a bag and see what matches up better, or maybe neither are good choices and you need to look further.

I have the latter. It's great for longer treks, but it's bigger than I personally need, and I am looking for a replacement. Not to mention I bought it when I was 13 and thought ACUPAT was cool. My only real gripe with it is that the straps didn't extend all the way to the internal frame at the top and is extended about two or three inches by wide nylon straps, heavily stitched into the pack, which made it a little uncomfortable for the first 30 minutes of walking, but it got better as time went on. I lugged it around all day with 20-30 pounds of gear with no problem. (Shut up, soldiers and Marines, most of the weight you carry is in your vest.)

There's a saying among Marines, "The more space in your pack, the more stuff you'll find to fill it." Consolidate.

While I was in Sweden for the World Scout Jamboree, I worked with a Hungarian who had the former in ACUPAT. I asked him about it, as I was thinking about getting it. He said it worked and was great for his needs. Was a deal smaller, but it looked like it could fit most of my essential gear and not bog me down.

I'd personally go with the former, but they're both fine packs. THOUGH KEEP IN MIND, a bunch of brands make both, and I'd go with either Condor or Voodoo Tactical. Neither are particularly exquisitely constructed (Made in China), but they hold together.

Actually, if I pack the official "packing list", I'm packing about 52 pounds in my large ruck, PLUS the vest with four plates, 7 loaded magazines, any grenades I was issued, and my weapon.

Use whatever bag meets your needs. I'd suggest finding a way to get to try them out.

The proof is in the pudding.... Oh God I've become my grandfather.... I would take both and put your loadout in each of them and do a hike with each. Even almost identical pack will ride differently. I have a S.T.O.M.P. II Medical Pack that I wish all my packs would be as comfortable. The problem is that my S.T.O.M.P. even though it is my most comfortable pack is my lowest priority pack. It's nice to have but unless I have someone that doesn't have a pack or I have a vehicle it will be cached and left in place. Do you find this valuable?

OK, now I can comment. First consideration is how you want to use it. I am keen on the idea of having multiple levels of readiness. Each of these has certain advantages for having multiple levels.

The Level 3 appears to have a larger capacity and is expandable via the PALs. You can customize it for more versatility.

The CG10 having a smaller capacity is offset by the detachable pouches, versatility is already there. It has far fewer PALs, but I think you would be hard pressed to use all the PALs on the other pack.

The big question that I can not tell from the links is whether the CG10 has the back protection that the L3 has. This could be a most important difference. The L3 is not going to beat your back up over a long haul. Is this also true of the CG10?

Something I like about both is the opening for the hydration tube (both are bladder sold separately).

for comparison sake, this is the bag I am going to get for my BOB.

http://www.ems.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4399094

It has very few PALs but Im good at sewing so I dont mind. What has me turned on about this pack is the layering of the compartments.

Personally, I try to avoid military-looking backpacks and apparel for my bug out stuff. I don't want to paint a picture that I'm something that I'm not. Now, I'm not opposed to using military surplus items in my BOB, but I think that the civilian sector has better items available within it. Actually, there's only a few items in my kit that are surplus, not that I think about it... Do you find this valuable?

Why you avoid military or tactical backpacks? Please tell about more
And ı think BOB is a ''survival'' bag , not a ''combat'' bag so I put many supply in my BOB.I have a another combat bag but biggest problem is a weight. What can I do for this?

I'm currently using a 5.11 Rush 72 pack that I got a redonkulous deal on. This pack puts every other pack I've ever owned to shame. Some day I will retake pics of my loadout and replace the old ones in my profile. Do you find this valuable?
