Need help with plans

Ok i just finished writing my ZDay plans for where i live, but i know there not fully fixed yet. I just need some help making it where everyone can understand it other then just me. I know its not the greatest of plans for what i plan on doing but considering where i live its one of the best ones for my town. http://www.zombiesurvivalwiki.com/account/Justbeme34 I thank you if you read it and once i find it to be good enough I will post it in the "user survival plans". Welcome to the ZSDW. You've done a lot of writing in one day (on your plan/profile page). The problem with your plan is that going to large stores/malls is a very, very (suicidally) bad idea. The reason for this is that as soon as a major disaster takes place, anyone who is not prepared will rush to their nearest Cosco/Walmart/etc. They will also go after any small shops they believe will have supplies they can use to survive, including gun shops and pawn shops. This competition for supplies they literally feel their lives depend on will lead to chaos and, quite possibly, violence in these stores. If you go to one of these stores after the panic, it is still a bad idea as you would find the stores picked clean.In addition, most large stores have more entrances than you could possibly defend (large glass front doors, emergency doors, etc.). They would thus be untenable as a fort/base. True i know that they have many entrances on most of these buildings and people would start raiding the places once they figure out whats going on. Thats why I have the plan set up and have people to help me. Even though its wrong i would use force to get what i need and to have people listen to me. For the most part with me and my second family together we have enough supplies to survive a week or two, with water and such. But with the living environment that we have and housing we have which is trailers, then we would be quickly over run. In my house alone i have seven windows just in my living room. So I resorted to the bugging out plan. I checked out many places that would be suitble to live in that you can barricade, so i chose Cosco for the three entrances only and how they close. If I had any other real safe place to go to barricade that was not more then an hour away then I would but Myrtle Beach not many places that are fort worthy to bunker down in, and would not like to try and make it some place else where the panic has more time to spread. Now me, I may not be able to kill someone in cold blood over this stuff but some of the people with me would without thinking twice. Of course they would also shoot me if it was them or me really. Yes it may be a hard plan to go through with though I understand this, but really its either try and make it work or drive on who knows how much gas that day, trying to make it somewhere safe. Though with that the panic has time to set in and more and more crazy drivers and zombies.

Welcome to the forums. The problem with your plan is you seem to be trying to set everything up right in the middle of the panic. Walmart pawnshops costco all those places would become deathtraps. I live in florida and the day before a hurricane generators sterno bottled water canned foods all fly off the shelf. After the hurricane resupply trucks cant get back in for sometimes up to a week. And thats just a hurricane. Imagine what people will do during z-poc

" What happens to your plan if your friend gets fired? Losing a job happens for the stupidest of reasons some times. About security doors. Locks only keep honest people honest. Unless the Zpoc happens tomorrow you likely have the time to become even better prepared and may be able to eliminate the stores and shops from your plans all together. A side note: whenever you tell us you have something we immediately ask how much, how large/heavy, to what capacity? If you have water readied, how much? Where do you keep it? What are you carrying it in? How many people is it supposed to supply? How long do you expect it to last? Same with food. Do you find this valuable? |

South Carolina where i live there is no wilderness. Nothing major at least they took all that away. Food and water, you can survive with up to about a hundred people for two years unrationed, longer if. Cosco is a bulk item store and yea i understand he can get fired along with other stuff. I mean i know so much can go wrong with it, but for my climate and place of living its the best plan for around here. If it takes some people not being able to get in because i dont trust anyone then thats what i will do. I understand its not the best plan, but its the best one i can think of actoully having everyone i care about survive along with me. I have read quite a few of other peoples on here already, and I can not see any of these working for me. I also have to ask myself what if there is no help, what if its only those who think ahead, or theres no mass cure/spray to kill them? You need a bunker system that will work for years not just weeks or months.

I am thankful for the help though, and i understand where the problems come from with it being a store that many people would think of to go to. Thats why the barricades come in the weapons come in and trying to catch it as soon as possible. Im not going to wait for the news to catch it majorly. I listen to the back stories and what all is going on, not just when everyone gets to know, you would also have a hour or so before most realize its not a joke.

You really need to google on YouTube about forcible entry. Not even barricades are going to help.Preparation beforehand is going to win hands down over acquire on the day. I know what Cosco is like, 100 people are NOT going to survive on the bottled water in one Cosco. 2 liters per day per person living at rest. Thats 200 liters per day or 73000 liters per year. That is 19284 gallons. Lets make that more visible, that is more than 32 skids.* That's larger than an average 30 foot swimming pool. Just to keep them alive, no work, no travel and at 72 deg F. Let the temperature vary colder or hotter and the need will increase. RE: Timing your take over. Sure you might go there before the panic begins. Dont you think that the police might consider this a terrorist / hostage situation. After all you plan to get to Cosco before anyone consider there to be an emergency, just another day. In the news tonight from South Carolina, a small group of men were arrested today after SWAT and the FBI removed them from a Cosco. The perpetrators had barricaded themselves inside claiming that the zombie apocolypse was immanent. Boy, I hope you interpret the back story correctly. I feel your desperation, but you know, we very likely have plenty of time to prepare. Learn survival skills. Stock up on household supplies. Find the facts and do the math. Do enough and you will not even need a Cosco-death-trap *calculation was done as though a skid 5ft tall was a tank of water. A skid of bottled water has a huge amount of airspace. so it might actually be 1/3 to 1/2 again as many skids. Do you find this valuable? |

I understand the problems and I know that not that many people would survive. I just know if i figure out whats happening ahead of time then its not far before everyone knows. Or it may be to late and i only have an hour or so before it gets way to far for me to get away because the mountains from my house is a five hour drive. Then theres also Spartenburg which has like no people living out there or Anour which is red neck country they range from an hour or three hours away. I mean i know theres other places but i also thought up this plan partially for fun seeing what all it would take to survive using cosco. Either way though i would not be able to stay at my house and even before i would go to cosco to try and survive there, i have all my canned goods like canned meats/veggies/soups and such also ramen i have. It would take me three mins to sweep into the tub I have and then carrying it to my truck to drive away. Think about it this way im only 19 and I also like to make stories. I have survival skills because i can go into the woods and live off the land for a few weeks but I would like a group and think in groups to have people helping watch your back because no one can survive on there own no matter what skills they say they have. I also would like to have a bunker that ZOMBIES cant get in not people.
