My plan for the zombification of the United States
Jan 15 2012, 1:52 PM EST
I live in Erie, PA which has a population of about 195,000 people and also has access to Lake Erie. When the virus first begins I would scavenge my house for any supplies such as food, water, soda, weapons batteries, scrpa metal, wood etc. I would load all of these into my parents car and we would drive down to the yacht club that hs tall barbed wire fences which temporarily keep out the infected. I would then use the club's computer to go on facebook and tell any survivors to come and seek refuge at the yacht club. And also do the same with my phone contacts. Wait several days for survivors to show and live off food from home and at the club. After several days of waiting whoever came and us would form a convoy with our cars and go loot a food bank that I frequently volunteer at. There is an extremley low chance that it will already have been looted because it is in a location that very few know about.Use forklifts in food bank to lower pallets of food and load them into their trucks and semis.Drive Trucks and some original vehicles back down to yacht club and load loot onto biggest boats at the club. Search all boats in the club looking for supplies on boats and i already know for a fact that some of our freinds there have guns on their boat because it isnt that far from a bad part of town. Put all found supplies into boats already with food in them. Fuel up boats at Gas dock and start going towards Niagara Falls. Once there live with the U.S and Canadian Border Control and wait until help arrives. Any comments, constructive criticism will be appreciated GOOD LUCK COMRADES AND KEEP ON SLAYIN ,CMD 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

there are one or two unsafe assumptions in your plan friend. That the internet and phone networks are still working after a major outbreak is one. That your friends are sat looking at their Facebook pages not running and fighting for their lives would be another.I'm not too clear about a food bank hardly anyone knows about. But that you are the only person in the yacht club that thinks of escaping by boat seems a bit of a long shot so that part of the plan will . . . get complications. . . . Your off to a good start but needs some work. _ Do you find this valuable? |

There is no help I will trust doing post Z day. Also, keeping your where about secret might be safer for you since broadcasting live of your location to thousands will bring the sick, bitten, hungry, and zombies.

Where will you get the keys for the boats that you plan on taking?Have you ever operated a boat? What happens when everyone shows up for their boats and leave you sitting on the dock? It seems like a lot for one person to do while waiting for others to show up. Also if other people can get in so can the infected or zombies themselves. Worse case scenario would be to get 5 miles off shore when one of your survivors changes and starts attacking others, there's not much room to move on a boat. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. "there are one or two unsafe assumptions in your plan friend. That the internet and phone networks are still working after a major outbreak is one. That your friends are sat looking at their Facebook pages not running and fighting for their lives would be another.Internet and landline networks won't go down immediately, and indeed, may stay working for quite a while as military forces prioritise security of key utility assets. Relying on the internet as a first-instance communication method isn't particularly unwise. You'd be surprised how many hours people are on Facebook for as well. Dead right on all the other stuff though Frank. The yacht club could very well be overrun by people who live nearby. I doubt you'd find many boats left. Depends how determined and loyal security is there, I mean, if some of the owners are around at the time, it's good bet there will be some boats left, particularly if they're armed as is said. The food bank would probably be overrun by military if there are significant amounts of food in it, I seem to recall reading reports of food banks as military distribution points during natural disasters. It would have to be extremely remote for that not to be the case. People who work there would also be present, and possibly their families. Do you find this valuable? |

@junkcollecter we already own one of the biggest in the yacht club and I have a friend who can hotwire. It is not just me it is whoever is left in my house and whoever is already at the club and no I haven't personally driven a boat but both of my parents have and the only way in except from the water is a gate that is lockable

' instructions. I guessed coldmtndew was up to speed on the boat handling thing as people mostly come up with solutions involving disciplines they are familiar with. Engineers don't often think to solve problems with carpentry etc. I'd ask (again) anyone thinking of marine bug outs what they are going to do if the weather is foul - caught between the devil and the deep blue sea - as in, we have to escape into raging gale blown waters that would give the USS Ronald Reagan a hard time? _ 0 out of 1 found this valuable.
