Moonshade13's BOB & Gear Setup

Well, it was a PITA to do it on my IPAD, but I was able to post my BOB & gear setup in my profile. This is still a WIP. If you review it, please see the notes below for additional information. I know it may not be ideal, but I think it is a fairly good setup & that there may be some items that others may not have or might be interested in checking out for the themself. Comments welcome. Do you find this valuable?

Looks pretty good. I initially was reading the loadouts and thinking " Holy crap, he thinks he's gonna carry all this"...Theeen I got down to the bottom explinations..
Much more conceivable with two pack mules carrying it all.

On the weight of your packs, endurance, while important, can often over shadow something else... How fast and manuverable are you with the pack on?

Can you bust loose and really move if need be?

How easy would it be to dump your packs on the run if need be, and return for them later?

It's nice to be able to carry a lot, but if it really hampers your ability to get out of tight spots, it could mean the end.

I see you are trying to cut the packs weights, look for things that might really be redundant, or nor really needs but like to haves...eliminate those.

I see lots of plans with, 12 knives, 46 lighters, 7 bottles, etc etc..( exagerations) that they really dont need.

One other thing? Do you have a location you are most likely to head to? Or a BOL already waiting?

Thanks for the comments Outlaw. Yeah, at 1st glance you would think I was "Arnold" if I could carry it all. :-)

The is some redundancy in my setup, yes & I am looking at that as a way to drop some weight from it. However, I feel some redundancy is needed. Example, I have the Blast Match and matches. I really don't want to risk only having 1 means of starting a fire & losing it. Plus, sometimes you just really need a match. Survival knives and folding knives. Again, I don't want to risk not having one and there may be a time where it would not be prudent to have a 9" knife on your side but where a 6" folder in your pocket would be handy.

I have never been an endurance runner (was a sprinter on the track team in jr & sr high school) so long runs are difficult for me loaded or unloaded. I can walk quite a good way at a brisk pace however. The packs are very "ditchable", pull 2 straps, slouch shoulders & drop arms down & gone & can be done on the move. Vest & holster rig, that is a different story.2 leg buckles, a waist buckle & a full length zipper & some shacking to get it off.

Looks good. Got pics? I'd love to see your stuff as a system and all put together. Do you find this valuable?

I have links to pics of certain items but not of the actual configured packs. I' m still working on that.
