homemade/DIY weapons would you choose or make for z day

ok basic question say you somehow got your hands on a basic hardware store and you somehow had the time to make some weapons or upgrade/mod a weapon (you know like in dead rising or something by not as ridiculous as a say a lightsaber make out of some duck tape flash light and gems ) what would you make eg. spiked bat crossbow

You should check out a fellow on here named Timber Rattler's profile. He's got a neato little Home made War-hammer. I'd make something similar. I'd probably pop some thick pipes together in a T shape. One longer pipe with with a connection screwed on the top of the long pipe. I'd take a screw on cover and a piece of metal and make a spike out of it and another solid one to make a hammer. I'd wrap a bicycle inner tube around the handle to cushion my hand and give me a better grip. That or I'd make a staff with a spear tip. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

I have some photos on my profile of a Spear, Spike Axe and Machete I made out of some scrap I had laying around.I'm getting ready to make a sword out of an old crowbar Do you find this valuable? |

What about a slingbow, homemade claymores are fairly easy to make but harder to set off... A home distillery to make alcohol. Not so much for drinking but its a combustable liquid. I'd probably be more interested in power, shelter, and security needs. Fencing, rope, wire, pipe...etc Besides, why make an axe or hammer when you can get one from the garden section? Not by any means saying making a hammer etc isn't cool, or having the ability isn't useful, it certainly is. Do you find this valuable? |

I guess this is going by "the panic has subsided and the store is stripped of almost everything immediately useful" rationality, or I'd be with Problomatic, grabbing a maddox from Garden and a Paslode cordless nailer from Hardware. If we gotta build stuff... well... Lawnmower blades are heat-tempered. Should work well as a makeshift machete with a whole roll of grip tape or duct tape wrapped around one end for a handle. Do you find this valuable? |
