My new toy (the ultimate zombie eliminator)

It's my first new toy in quite some time. I was blown away by the reviews, checked one out for myself, and took the plunge. The FNP 45 tactical FDE was purchased NIB for $999 from Davidsons (came with a lifetime replacement guarantee too), and it comes in a nice cordura zippy case (also in Flat Dark Earth). The trijicon RMR is $357 from Botach, it's got dual illumination with tertium isotope lamps and fiberoptics - so the 7 MOA amber dot will run for 15 years. No batteries needed. The Osprey suppressor takes 4 months here in arizona to pass the BAFTA pigs and get local sheriff sign off (luckily he's on our side). $200 for the stamp and $750 for the suppressor from Merchant Firearms in Ahwutukee.

End result? Silent and deadly. The 45 ACP (as you probably already know, being the zombie crowd) is ideal for suppressing, as it's normally sub-sonic. With this large frame gun, even being polymer, the recoil is nada - my wife shoots this with ease, says it's as easy as her CZ75B 9mm. The RMR makes for very fast target acquisition (once you adjust to it), and suppressor knocks it down to TV volume. There are some great videos on you tube, just search snoman 45 FNP tactical (not me, but his videos helped sell me).

Without further adieu:

This site does not allow showing pictures inline? Why is that? Do you find this valuable?

Pretty cool gun, to much for me right now

As for the pics, take a look at x-wolfhunters "spicing up threads" and you'll be able to embed pics

Looks like a slick setup. I'd imagine it's still pretty loud, suppressor or not. Do you find this valuable?

-O.o-

That is the biggest freakin .45 suppressor I've ever seen!

I really like the gun... and the matching suppressor... but it just looks so... ...unbalANCED!

I'd recommend you add this to that little rail:

Would help with the balance and barrel drift... while letting you add a tac light.

It's already balanced quite well, but I do own a TLR2 Streamlight. The suppressor is a lot lighter than it looks, and the gun is very heavy. There is nothing even remotely unmanageable about this setup. I use the TLR2 when it's on the bedstand, along with a screw on muzzle brake. You can't use a silencer for personal defense under current law.

The suppressor is also very quiet - there is some sound of the bullet, but it's pretty low. Low enough that you don't need any hearing protection at all, you can talk over it while shooting, and you can hear the gun cycling (the loudest remaining noise component).

I'd embed this video review if I could (it's not mine, but it's a great vid) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-f656NUWVQ

That's actually quite an average size for a suppressor.

is that a rectangular suppressor?
i thought suppressors only came in cylindrical shapes.
