My layout is going to depend on whether I decide to stay in or bug out. Sounds like you have short to long range covered with that setup though. For short range I'll be carrying a mossberg 590A1 I carried one in the army and literally had to bet my life on it a couple times. As far as handgun it'll most likely be a Springfield XDm 9mm not because I have affection for 9mm but having 19+1 is reassuring. I'll have a S&W M&P15 with a red dot and backup sights. Maybe a piston upper if I'm lucky. For longer range which I'll admit I'm better at than pistol I'll have a DPMS AR10 the one in my profile pic. And my baby for reaching WAY out there is a 7mm Rem Magnum that uses a Savage 110 action but has a custom stock with a Hart fluted bull barrel. The mistress as my GF likes to call it LOL 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

I'd have to agree with thomas13mike, depending if i stay or not will decide what I'll be packing. But in the given situation that I have to bug out I'll more than likely will load out with the following.

1- Saiga 12
1- AK 47 or AR15 (whichever is more readily available at the time.)
1- Springfield XDM 9mm or Beretta 92A1
1- Taurus airweight 357

Dang after I read your post Kyan it made me remember one thing my S&W 686p how could I forget that? Yeah it will definitely vary some. If I'm staying in I can concentrate on close range weapons. Or if leaving change accordingly. Do you find this valuable?

haha, hate to say it... my taurus is basically my last resort gun. dependable but with only 5 shots I figure i might as well go out with a nice big bang. Since it's a snub nose something or someone better be to up close and personal for comfort to see it.

I would like to invest into one of those folding survival 22 rifles I keep hearing about tho for my bob. Things look pretty handy. If anyone here has one the input would be appreciated.

Also your "mistress" sounds like a woman not to mess with haha

That's the way I look at my revolver...I mean something is going to have to be within 10-12 feet to get killed with mine. I'm trying to practice more but i'll admit handgun is my weakness. I bought the gun with a bent barrel and cracked stock but the action itself was fine and that's all i wanted. Ordered a Kevlar stock for it. Then ordered the barrel for it. All that was cheap compared to the scope for it. But it was still cheap compared to ordering a ''custom'' gun. Fits that's notch between .308 and having to go to something really big... It will reach out to 1,000yds and still hits like a .357 when it gets there. That's about as far as I'll ever need to shoot. She told me if it's going to be my mistress I need to give her a name but I'm still working on that LOL...I'm afraid it's one of those things women tell you to see if you'll really do it HE HE

Big backpack?

I'll post what I would carry then what my gf would carry.

Me: Rem 870 12 ga, SKS, Glock 17.
Gf: Rem 870 20 ga, Ruger 10/22, Ruger Single-Six with the magnum cylinder.

I would try to bring all of my guns so as a "sniper rifle" I would use either the Lee-Enfield or the Mosin-Nagant

If I can stay at home, I'll have my whole arsenal at my disposal. And if I'm leaving, I'd try to load up everything in my truck before things go totally sideways. To me, "bug-out" means you stayed too long already.

For distance shooting, I'd reach for my K31 first, and if I run out of ammo for that I'll switch to my M38 Mosin. Hunting duty would go to my Marlin .35 Rem. Small game would be covered by my Marlin .22 rifle, or even the MKii pistol if need be. For up close and personal work I'd use my pistol grip Mossberg 500 12 ga w/Surefire light.

As far as handguns go, the Taurus 1911 would stay on me at all times, and despite hating ankle holsters, I'd probably keep my Bersa in one at all times, for a last ditch item. That leaves my Arcus 9mm and my Taurus .357 to back up the 1911, only one of which I would carry.

I've got a Tokarev and an old Marlin 12ga pump too, so I would loan these out to other group members if need be.

Just an SKS with as much ammo as i can carry, roughly 15 mags of 7.62 so far. no sidearm, no shotgun.

You could probably reduce the number of mags and cram an extra few boxes of loose rounds or stripper clips in there. Then again, that depends on your "fighting loadout."

Holy sh!t. I was going to carry two, or three at most and a crap ton of mags. What type of 1911s are they?

i have the tapco intrafuse stock on there and trying to load 20 rd mags with stripper clips is a pain in the ass because the magazines dont have the stripper lip on there so loading is awkward, plus 15 magazines gives me a fighting loadout of 300 rounds, which believe it or not weighs just the same as my kit when i was with the US army. dont need a sidearm because quite frankly i dont like pistols, shotguns are awesome BUT cumbersome in the configuration i like. i cannot stand pistol grip shotguns with no buttstock.... like the mossberg 500 and mariner model shotguns the army uses for door breaching. however, if i could get a remington 870 with a side saddle, a rifled barrel and ghost ring sights.... yep i just may pack a shotgun.

Let’s all keep in mind if your bugging out that means ammo might be an issue. I based all my choices off of how easy I can find ammo. We all know there is certain calibers that can be easily scavenged from any abandoned Wal-Mart, found in homes or left behind squad car.

CMMG AR-15 (5.56MM)
Mossberg 930 SPX (12 gauge)
HK USP Tactical (.45) Walther PPS (9MM) as back up
Remington 700 SPS/T (.308 Win)

whilst i am basing my decision of of what ive already got. when i run out of ammo, which is a huge doubt, but if it happens, i cna fall back on my training in unconventional warfare.

If, somehow, zombies rose, I'd be usin':

Winchester 1894 .30-30
S&W Model 586 4" .357
SFA Mil-Spec 1911 .45
Pair of Ka-Bar knives.

I know and shoot all of 'em well, ammo is common, and they're light enough to lug around.
