Z-Day Scenrio & You

You awake in a cold sweat, to the wail of the town’s storm sirens. Your consciousness is immediately drawn back to the freighting images that ravish your dreams. You pause, processing the horrors that have taken place time and time again in side of your mind. Shaken by your dreams you slowly fade back into the immediate circumstances. The sirens shrill voice hasn’t stopped. You listen for rain and the torrents of wind warranting this cry from the sirens steely throat. Nothing, only the cry of the siren. Your assumptions of an impending storm are shattered. You pull your shaken body from your otherwise empty bed and examine the scene from outside your window. It’s still very dark but nothing seems out of place. Still an eerie feeling is upon you. You turn to leave your bedroom only to find the door is shut. Why is it shut you ask yourself, As you slowly open it you stare into the hallway. You notice one other bedroom door has been closed, but several other doors remain open. You inspect the first open bedroom only to find blood soaking the sheets. You rapidly enter and search the room finding no one, you want to scream but through force of will, suppress the scream. In that moment of helpless terror and panic you remember your weapon you left next to your nightstand. Your mind resets, with a stoic determination to find what has become of your other loved ones. You rearm your thoughts and prepare for a struggle with whatever enemy you may face. You walk toward the bedroom door, pausing in the doorway to hear the final sputtering cries of siren echoing down the hall. The hallway goes silent, the entire world seems to go silent. The hallway that once seemed approachable now strikes you with fear as every footstep gives away your position. 5 out of 6 found this valuable. Do you? |

THE REMAINDER OF THIS STORY IS BASED ON YOUR REALITY:In this scenario you have a choice, the door in the hallway that remained closed contains one member of your household. They are sleeping soundly in bed, unaware of the horror has unfolded. Any remaining bedrooms you have in your own home ((eg: other open hallway doors)) are found to be in the same state as the first room, blood washed and without occupant. You have the choice of waking the remaining family member or going back to your bedroom for your weapon whatever it may be. As you have yet to discover your front door is wide open, upon looking out you do find at least 4 zombies quickly roaming through the 3:30 AM darkness. Your house is not secure even if you close the door at this point unless you check every corner. Do you close the door? Do you attempt to bug in? Do you attempt to bug out in your vehicle? Do you attempt to bug out on foot for some reason? Does the neighbor’s house seem appealing for some reason? Are you friends or do they just happen to have a hummer H1? 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

Grab my gear and hit the road, because the occupants of the other room are dead and it's likely that the roads will still be wide open at this time.

retreat to the room, grab knife and the Ruger(10/22 with marauder kit) load an eagle mag, rack bolt, fold the stock so i can clear the corners easier.. I have 3 bedrooms, only two are accessible.. if i wake up in my bed, then the only other occupant is mom, whether that's the bloodsoaked room or its locked, i couldnt say, considering the scenarioHowever, If the door is open, then theres the question of where/why my dogs arent barking.. the cats would run out but the dogs are caged and even if they werent they dont run far. That''s a real life good thing. lol. Anyways, all that's to clear are two accessible bedrooms, a bathroom, and the kitchen/living area. seal the front, minimize sound.. and, then check the garage. My decision would be to lock down as much as possible. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Bug in. There is a baby gate across the top of the stairs so the dogs will let us know if something is coming up. There is a 12 gauge pump on my wife's side of the bed and an xd45 on mine. Our only other room is across the hall so I clear it as my wife watches the stairwell. Once rooms are cleared, I take the axe and destroy the stairwell. We bug in and hunker down. If the front door is open then the bolt lock clearly didn't work. No point in going down to try and close it at 3:30am. Hunker down and get our minds right. Do you find this valuable? |

As soon as I notice the blood I check my girlfriends daughters room, and take her to her mother and arm Sam (girlfriend), with my KelTec P11 from my dresser. I take my .357 from the night stand and the 2 easy loaders. I go to the living room and see the door open. I switch on the lights with the switch I installed in the hall way that turns all of the lights on. Then I check every room and closet to make sure the house is free of intruders. I then shut the door and push the recliner in front of it. I call 911 but the lines will probably be jammed due to everyone calling about the zombie outbreak. Screw in the door blocks then reinforce the doors with 2X4's. Wait until light and check out the situation around my home. If it doesn't look bad have Sam watch my back while I screw the fencing over the windows and pull the supplies from the shed to the house (3 - 50 gallon water barrels, 20 - 24 cases of bottle water, 72 MRE's, and 9 cases of Mountain House meals. Check the water barrels to make sure their ready to collect more water. Go in and prepare the house for bug the bug in. Stay as long as possible or until an incredible BOL can be found and confirmed. 1 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Well since I share my room with my bro and there is only 2 bedrooms in my Apartment room and 2 bathrooms one is in my moms room. I'm going to assume i fell asleep in my bathroom,again.... anyways I'm going to assume my bedroom is the one where the blood on the bed sheets was that means my bro is gone.. my mom is in the other room so that kinda sucks, i hate her. But id go in my room get my whacking stick and go in the kitchen and get my family butcher knife.. id have to sneak because the kitchen is in the living room. I'll go close my front door of my apartment and ill sneak through the bathroom window ill go out into the rest of apartment building and try to kill the zombies on my floor that are on it. Then wake my neighbors most importantly the manager cause his son is really tough and also my neighbor John he is too. Finally ill clear next floor and eventually clear remainder of apartment if i can and well Bug-In as best i can.

My apartment's pretty small; two bedrooms, one of which is occupied by my MIL. I shout at my wife to get the BOB's ready and try to wake my MIL. Once we assemble, make a run for her friend's house, per our emergency plans. This is relatively easy since we could lob a rock at it and hit it.Do you find this valuable? |

considering the fact that I just moved a week ago, this would really suck. I'd walk back to my room, where my roomate sleeps with me, help him into his wheelchair, grab the shotgun from under my bed, and kill whatever is already in the apartment. Then I would check on the other room which would be my other roomate's, get her ass up and start boarding the 17 points of entry: 3 sliding glass doors, 4 walk in size windows, 2 crawlspace entries, and 8 small windows. I'm next to a school off a gridlocked road in the middle of a city, so bugging out at this point would be on foot, and with Jay as sick as he is, I don't think he'd make it very far. Staying is really the only option where I won't end up alone.

The first thing that should be done is to close and lock the front door. While your security has been compromised, your best bet is to contain the threat and prevent further intrusion. Next step would be to procure a weapon(I prefer firearms) and sweep room to room closing doors as rooms are cleared. By closing doors as you go it will prevent a threat from slipping by you and into a previously cleared room while you are preoccupied with something else. Generally if a door is opened it will tip you off. If you are seeing zed in the front yard, I'd definitely would stay put until daylight hours so a better threat analysis can be made. An exfil under so many unknown variables with can't see **** added to it will get you into trouble and quick. If you don't have a current exfil plan start making one while you wait for sunrise. If a vehicle is available use the hell out of it. If you're in Medusa's situation, the best bet would be to find a more secure structure close by and hoof it there.

1) Close the front door. We don't use it often and sometimes forget to lock it, so hopefully the deadbolt isn't busted, just not engaged. Lock the door.2) Grab the 12g from next to the front door where I keep it. Grab the two extra shells I keep on the table next to it (I keep it loaded 2+1 with the safty on, so as not to stress the mag spring). Load the two to take it up to full (4+1). I would not yet go upstairs for more ammo. 3) As I move back towards the bedroom, I would circuit the room closing the curtains - no reason to show too much movement inside. 4) Halfway back to the bedroom, I can look across the kitchen to make sure the back door is secure. If not, I go and secure it as well. (Dining room table if door is ruined - couch for the fron door). 5) In the bedroom, I secure my wife and I give her the pistol from the nightstand. We get dressed. We take the extra pistol rounds (around 80). 6) Once we are dressed and ready, we go back into the hall and around to the front door. There, I take the pistol back and put it in the holster. She will get the .22LR and the .308 to carry. We will also take the spare ammo from the table by the door (a few hundered .22, 2 .308s, and 25 12g bird shot. We carry all of this upstairs. 7) Once the upstairs is cleared, we will go out through the window to the roof. We will also take some of the ammo stockpile out there with us (in totes if it is raining). From the roof, I will start sniping the zed in the yard with the .22. I have over ten thousand rounds of .22, so I should be able to depopulated the country if necessary. 8) If the house is overrun, we can jump over to the garage easily enough and extend our stand. The garage gets within one story of the ground, so a good jump might not end up with a broken foot or ankle before we have to run for the truck, the barn, or the treehouse. I grab my torch and stick, turn the torch on because I'd rather risk alerting anything out there than be blind. The person in the other room is my younger brother who is only 11, I wake him up and explain the situation. I give him my other stick, we turn on the hallway light (it is not visible from outside) to save the torches battery. Then I do what it says in the ZSG (it has some good ideas :( ) and turn on the baths and sinks to start filling with water. Go downstairs, lock porch door and front door. Lock the other two rooms that have windows onto the front. Since I finally got round to buying a ton of canned food, take all the non-perishable stuff upstairs. Once all doors are locked, get dressed, pack BOB in case we're forced out, then start making breakfast :D Do you find this valuable? |

Questions1) Why is your front door unlocked or any door leading outside unlocked? 2) Why no noise from the dogs? 3) Why if there is a siren screaming and you have a bad feeling you don't already have your weapons at hand? 4) Why didn't the dead family members make a sound while struggling and dieing? 5) Where is the wife? 6) What's this about inside doors closed but don't know why? 7) And what does having a nightmare have to do with this at all? Ok now the unlikely scenario. I would already have a gun in hand. My bedroom is in one end of the house with the others on the opposite end. While checking these rooms wife will be grabbing extra guns and ammo. I will have seen both doors and secured them by the time I reached the kids. House is now secure and time to figure out who was in my spare room and bled every where. Wife will call family (next door) and then friends. This is to figure out what is up and our plan from here. While she is calling I will take my two oldest and two dogs to check on the surrounding property and livestock. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

WTF? Iron hollow doors, wooden shutters and no noise???? I sleep in the same room as my brother, so how could he have died and "reborn" and get out and lock the door? Assuming we were in different rooms, I'd pick my mom as the survivor, then come back to my bedroom, pick a 12 ga shotgun, print some ZSDW pages (btw, the lights were already turned on), go downstairs with my mom, checking every corner and closing the doors as I check them, and head to my f*ckin' BOL, oping that my granddad's home isn't in teh same state as mine. I suppose at 3:30 pm the zeds wouldn't be hard to avoid. Sorry for the confusion
