"uh oh i use suspenders.....I'm screwed. but since i don't use guns i have no need for that the most ill carry as a weapon would probably be melee like a machete or spear, and just a suggestion if you need a belt you can get a rope or a piece of thick sheet would be useful as a belt."
Nothing wrong with suspenders either. They and a belt can be paired up together for added stability, provided the suspenders don't inhibit your ability to access you weapon or dig into your shoulders when a backpack is on.

"I've got a 100 foot roll of 550 cord in my bag that i'll cut a piece off of if i need a new lace. There's nothing more miserable then being cold and wet. Cold is bad enough I always tried to carry 2 sets of everything for each day we were going to be out.
We used that pantyhose trick as well to stop blisters. I saw guys have blisters the size of quarters on their heels from not listening to tricks like that. "
Sock liners are essentially the same thing; super thin socks that go inside your other socks. Pantyhose are probably better because they breath better.

suspenders and a belt together.. that would look pretty cool i would have the belt carry the pistol and its ammo, and the suspenders keep my pants up (i don't sag i find it dumb since i run a lot so i always thought it would inhibit me)

Brahma Ramblers, with steel toes and thick soles. I wore them during the wet Christmas vacation in Manhattan and they worked perfectly for the rainy city streets. Do you find this valuable?

take it from an old grunt. if you are preparing for when the SHTF you need to consider two things; your feet.

keep several pair of footwear on hand. All purpose boots that lace up above the ankle but not beyond mid-calf with a good deep tread. Boots need to be flexible, as light as possible, alternated so all pairs are properly broken in. Try to avoid all leather boots if you do not understand how to maintain the leather properly.

Also consider keeping several pairs of all-synthetic construction cross trainers or cross country shoes. they are good for hiking cross country, fleeing from rampaging hordes, and are easier to swim in during an emergency. the greatest part is that they are very lightweight.

I like my high tech boots. i often back them up with some new balance cross trainers. G.I. speed lace boots are hard to beat for everyday wear, but since they are leather you need to understand how to keep the leather clean and conditioned or they will wear out in a phenomenally short time.

keep pairs of shoes in your bail out bag, backpack, vehicle, every cache, in abundance in you shelters, and so on. replacements will be next ot impossible to come by so be prepared.

also keep foot powder, clean socks (especially poly-wool), shoe laces, toe nail clippers, shoe polish/leather conditioner, and shoe glue in abundance as well.

if you cant reliably run/walk, then you have basically no mobility, and that can turn you into a buffet.

I would agree with your line of thinking. A medic once told me something on my basic training that has stuck with me over the years. You have to have happy feet. If your not feet are not happy, your going to be miserable and not an effective fighter.

Mole skin or equivent can help keep your feet opperational with even bad blisters. I have heard ppls on here recommend duck tape as well. Not sure about that one..never tried it myself.
