Let's make a collection of places where one can be inspired by days of yore. Living history museums are quite fun, They can be great places to learn specifics. Even the worst ones provide inspiration for further research.

My area (Delaware) has several that are wonderful

The Hagley Museum - http://www.hagley.lib.de.us/
The Brandywine River Museum - http://tinyurl.com/8748vea
Wintethur - http://www.winterthur.org/
Iron Hill Museum - http://www.ironhill-museum.org/about_us.htm

Another that I stumbled upon

Stanton, VA
The Frontier Museum - http://www.frontiermuseum.org/index.html
